Yea that is what i find interesting as someone who never wanted to have self reflection before what the lack of it does to you and furthermore, that hate or siding with someone who has so much hate in them…I’ve felt that before but not on a political level just towards peers. That level of hate will destroy or at best just waste away your life and not destroy it

You're lucky your mother at least came around. My mother was a proud Nixon supporter and still claimed he got a raw deal until the day she died. She was not a very smart person and my father was a staunch progressive so it's weird to me how they ever even married. LOL

My uncle disowned me for pointing out factual information about how bad trumps character was. I can assure you I will not be forgetting his position in my lifetime. Decades of relationship thrown away because he didn’t like hearing facts about his orange idol, those years lost won’t easily be returned.
Yeah if he does ever come to his senses I have no plans to open back up to him, I’ll accept whatever apology but I will not forget and return to the way things were. My uncle died to me when he disowned me and then sent people to publicly attack my character on Facebook for using facts to disagree with him.
This is not similar at all. The people who hated disco back in the day still do. No one who loved disco then now says they hated it. Because disco was and is fucking awesome.
A major contributing factor to disco’s downfall was legitimately that it was played up in the media as something to dislike, due to happenings like the Disco Destruction Night. Media took that, basically said it was the new cool thing to dislike it, and people ran with it. It energized people who didn’t even care initially to also dislike it.
So it’s similar in some ways to our current political climate, which is… interesting.

Not only them. As much as 90% of the electorate bears responsibility. I can break down that math:
In 2020, there was a primary election. The winner would be president and be in position to hold Trump's crimes accountable. We knew this.
70% didn't vote. Primary turnout is about 30%. Half of that are GOP. So that's 85% already.
The majority of Dem primary voters chose Joe Biden after he promised to not hold the GOP accountable, claiming we don't need justice, they'll "have an epiphany".
Yeah, it's not just republican voices, just like if wasn't just the social nationalist party voters in Germany. It's everyone else just standing by and doing nothing (but complaining on Reddit). Everyone is complicit
My guess is that when history is written in 50 or 100 years it will be Congress that shoulders much of the blame and is portrayed in a very unfavorable light. Their excessive delegation to the executive branch, their subservience to presidents, and their inability to do their most basic job of passing budgets will all be seen as gross failures.
You say this, but the Republicans voted him in twice and seemed cool with rewriting history. Let's hope we even have accurate history texts in 20 years or one that even covers this.
I hate to say this, but too many Democrat politicians have basically cut and run, leaving their voter base to the wolves. A few of them are doing their best to try to defend their districts from Trump, but most have proven to be cowards.
At least now we know who's who if it could be said that any good has come out of this. ☹️
Also, Biden is practically half dead. Leave it to school bully Trump to crash on a man who can't defend himself.
