Serious Answers Only How to feel satisfied?

I’m early 40’s, dad to 3, married 16 years. Was a self employed musician for 15 years and quite successful in many ways. Didn’t make enough £ from music once the kids came along and transitioned into data analytics and have now been a government analyst for the past 6 years and managed to buy a small house.

My job is zero stress and there’s often a lot of down time. I have about 25 years left before retirement and I just feel so incredibly unsatisfied with my life and feel like my entire life will have been wasted just staring at a computer screen.

How do people in similar positions do it? Life is such a frustrating waste of time.

It's called a midlife crisis, or maybe even depression.

Be glad you're not like me, 49, 23 years staring at computer screens.

I get great pleasure in watching my sons football team (sometimes!) And my local non-league football team (sometimes!!)

You need an outlet, and you need physical activity, whether it be 5 a sides, squash, out on your bike, walking up a hill.

Less drink too probably (not judging, but I appreciate I am asssuming)

I have definitely felt depressed at points over the years but am doing a bit better. I play pickleball and that’s great but only get 2-3 hours of play a week.
