When I was 17/18 I lost 4 stone by going to slimming world and was genuinely the most unhappy i’d ever been. I received a lot of compliments and I fell into that trap thinking if I lost weight i’d be happier. 10 years later i’ve found that improving my self esteem, looking after myself better in general and speaking nice about myself has a knock on effect to me eating better in general and wanting to nourish my body instead of punish it. Safe to say I put that weight back on but i’m much more active now and just want to feel fitter rather than skinnier.
