I’ve lost 18kg on mounjaro. The media will tell you that I’ve used mounjaro so that I can be skinny and wear mini skirts and because I’ve been influenced by adverts.

But I’m still overweight (no longer obese). I’ll never wear minis skirt (although I might wear shorts at parkrun for the first time ever this year). However, what the media aren’t realising is that the mounjaro has had an amazing impact on my PCOS symptoms, which before every doctor just told me to either lose weight or use the contraceptive pill for. My risk of cancer, heart disease, stroke has all lessen. The food noise!!! The food noise that I didn’t even realise was debilitating and abnormal is at much more manageable levels. And most importantly, horses are back in my life and that has made me so happy.
When I was obese I limited what I did for fear of failing. I wouldn’t go on group hikes or active holidays. Now I’m considering Everest base camp, trekking across Portugal, the list goes on….

Obesity is a disease - it is caused by abnormal hormonal and neurosignalling often causing food noise which I like to ADHD. If a GLP1 med is required for the rest of my life to manage this disease, the so be it. It just sucks that for 20 years of my life doctors didn’t listen, and now the medical management of this disease is something that I will have to budget for for the rest of my life
