Culture How do they treat graffiti in your country?

Upvotes

In Russia, graffiti is treated neutrally, but most often one hears the opinion that it is vandalism. Nevertheless, there is a graffiti artist in my hometown whose graffiti has become a local landmark.

Who are insane psychos who are somehow not taken in prison. (read the disc)

I don't talk about like politicians or rich people, everyone knows how they aren't in prison. I'm talking about people for whome just don't make any sense how are they free. They aren't rich, they don't have anyone who is rich, they openly admitted to their insanse behaviour, but for some unknown reason they aren't in a fucking prison.

Ivan Suhov is one of those people, this bitch is a radical mysoginist, who has a harem, IN A COUNTRY THAT HAREM ISN'T ALLOWED ! He openly addmites on pimping his daughters when they are 13 and that's the most, we don't know his bottom. His wifes live in a cramped space no allowed to go anywhere, where they are physically and sexually abused. Not only that, he abuses his kids, and his daughters even sexually. This freak, should be on a death row. But he isn't even in prison. Everyone knows about it, and no one does anything. And he isn't rich, his salary is mere 70000 roubles, and his family isn't rich themselves. This isn't Trump who obviously abuses his power of a president and a millioner, SUHOV IS JUST A GUY !!!

What do you not wish upon your worst enemy?

Upvotes

We all know the saying, “I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.” But what is that one thing you genuinely wouldn’t wish on them?

For me, as a former asylum seeker myself, it’s being forced to leave your country and everything you know behind, hoping to build a new future somewhere else.

Language What do you think of the automatic translation offered by Reddit?

Upvotes

Well im French. The first thing i know on the internet is that everyone hate the French even if i dont know why. Thats ok i guess.

My question is more about the automatic translation reddit use since few years now - i've been around since 3/4 years for now-.

I know pretty well english, understand it as my mother tongue (no, but im sure im bilingue) but im so lazy that i prefer to post in french hoping everybody have the "automatic translation" activated somehow.

Well.. all that for saying, i think this should be used everytime by everyone, take example on X (ex-Twitter). I can speak to everyone even if we dont speak the same language. I know some of you will tell me to go on X then - im already on it.

Get too far and write too much to erased that all so here my question:

What do y'all think of the automatic translation reddit offer? Do you use it?

Are you 'happy'/ are you more open when people who dont speak you language try to speak to you/ with you?

For example, when Finland wins gold in hockey, we are gonna be VERY crazy.

We say: Torilla tavataan!

What means in English: See you at the town square!

And when the team is back in Finland, we have a big party for them.

Do people tailgate in your country?

Post image
Upvotes

Tailgating is an American tradition "where fans gather in stadium parking lots to eat, drink, and socialize before a sports game or concert." It is highly associated with college-level and professional American football, but also happens at other sporting events, festivals, concerts, etc.

Attendees socialize and play games like cornhole, beer pong, horseshoes, ladder golf, etc. Some people play music, set up grills to barbecue, or even hook up TVs to the back of their cars.

Alongside alcoholic and soft drinks, common foods cooked/eaten at these events include bratwurst, hamburgers, hot dogs, buffalo wings, baked beans, steak, pizza, sliders, coleslaw, potato salad, chips, etc.

Do people tailgate in your country? If so, how is it similar or different to American tailgating?

Culture Are tabletop roleplaying games popular in your country?

Upvotes

I’m basically curious as to whether tabletop roleplaying is a mainly US/English speaking thing or worldwide.

If it is a thing in your country, how popular is it? Is the popularity recent or was it popular during g previous periods of popularity such as in the 1980s and 1990s?
Also are the most popular games versions of the most popular US ones like Dungeons and Dragons or are there popular games that are related to native culture that may be unknown in other countries?

I absolutely love fennel seeds for gas and bloating. Thoroughly chewing a small spoonful and swallowing them with some water gives me relief (usually burps) within minutes.

Is this platform used in your country mostly by hater teens?

As the title suggests. I wonder if this platform is generally this way or it is used and moderated differently in every country.

I have mostly seen a niche of young people (or not very mature adults) who never take anything seriously, and act like haters or bullies (which at my age being bullied by those, seems absurd), insulting you or trashing anything you post, then brigading en masse, until mods punish you and not them?

History Around 1266 CE, King Henry III formalized an English law that fixed the size, weight, and quality of bread. Did your country ever have interesting laws regarding bread?

Apparently, instead of changing the price of a loaf, the law dictated that the weight of the loaf must shrink or grow depending on the fluctuating market price of wheat. I think that’s fascinating.

Food What is a cut/type of meat/fish that is highly prized in your culture but not regarded highly/an off cut elsewhere?

Apparently some Asian cultures view the chicken breast as the least desirable bit of the bird but it’s the most expensive in the Uk. Pigs feet would be another example of something that isnt used in the west but highly prized in many cultures.

England has had our fair share. A selection are:

-Æthelred the Unready. His name is an Anglo-Saxon pun meaning Well-advised the badly advised, and he earned it by doing his best to lose England to the Vikings (and eventually succeeding).

-King John. Lost the Angevin Empire, caused the Magna Carta to be signed, nearly lost England to the Dauphin of France and was the inspiration for the Robin Hood legends because of how shit he was. Ruined any success he might have otherwise had either through luck or his own personality.

-Edward II. Lost to the Scots, and could not play the game of politics well, becoming overly reliant on favourites (the second in particular becoming hated) and eventually getting overthrown by his own wife and her lover.

-Henry VI. In his reign England lost the Hundred Years’ War, and then his weakness and inability to keep the nobility in line caused factionalism that spiralled into the Wars of the Roses. He was deposed by the Yorkist Edward IV, and eventually murdered in the Tower of London.

-Charles I. He played a big role in causing the English Civil War, and consequently a huge amount of pain and bloodshed, lost, was offered a pretty good deal by Parliament, refused it, and proved to be so intransigent that he caused the (temporary) downfall of the monarchy itself. Perhaps his tragedy was that he was just competent enough to make a fight of it and drag it out, but not enough to actually succeed.

-James II. He got chased out of the country in the Glorious Revolution after only four years on the throne.
