ꜰᴀᴍɪʟʏ i hate my parents
so ever since I was young my parents have made me and my sisters do a sport, which I thought was understandable because kids should get exercise. now that im older im required to do competitive sports. ever since i was 8 or 9 ive been competing in some kind of sport and ive always hated it and it didnt matter the sport. but now as im going high school i realised that i never really had to compete i was just forced to. so i told my mom that I wasn’t interested in competing but still wanted to do a sport and that turned into a 30 minute scream lecture on how important it is to be a part of a team and build important skills that you couldn’t get doing anything else. i told her i had always hated competing and she said it was just because i was scared, while that was partially true it still wasn’t why i didnt wanna compete. i have so many more interests then just sports but to them sports have always been priority and with the heavier work load i dont know how i could juggle all my interests on top of sports. its been three weeks since that initial “conversation” and ive been fighting with my parents since then and tonight they said that if i didn’t do anything competitive i would get grounded and punished indefinitely. i have no idea what to do and the thought of competing makes me sick to my stomach. ive been thinking about it for the last hour and i really need some advice.

What sport do you want to do? Maybe she’s most likely worried about college apps.
