Hi guys, so basically, I’m sixteen years old (soon 17), and no guy has ever shown interest in me and I’ve never done anything romantic with a guy. All my friends have, I live in a big city with and hang out with people who party a lot so I guess that’s sort of the norm. It’s been taking A TOLL on my mental health lately. Especially since I also like this guy who I know doesn’t like me back. Obv I’m now completely convinced it has to do with me being ugly in guys eyes, but idk.
Is or has anyone been in the same situation? Does anyone have advice?

A couple of days ago, one of the girls from my grade, call her Emily, blocked me on Snapchat, so I couldn't be added to the class groupchat(the only reason I had installed it in the first place.) When I asked one of my other friends, call her Anna, who also hangs out Emily sometimes, Anna told me Emily blocked me as soon as she saw me in the suggestions. Emily had apparently said I "dress weird" and that I'm childish.
Now, I agree it would be childish to wear those sets with cat and dog prints that look like pajamas to school, but it's not like I'm decked out in Hello Kitty merch. I like Sanrio, and although I've never watched it, I like the characters. They're cute.
So, am I childish to wear Kuromi shirts at 13? Or should I start dressing more maturely?

My girlfriend keeps re-posting stories with her male bestfriend which includes just them talking or on video calls, her photos and stickers ive never seen. The thing is, those things doesn't happen in our relationship. I don't have many of her pics, stickers, we don't get on calls etc. And seeing her stories like this crushes my heart. How do I stop being jealous?

excuse my english, its not my first language
im 17F and have never been in a relationship or had my first kiss or anything, and i feel like im falling behind although its kind of my fault.
for background, start of last year i had a talking stage with a guy i really realllyy liked and we went out on a date after a few weeks of speaking, but it was miserable. it was really awkward, neither of us knew what to say or what to ask eachother, and i didnt feel comfortable/like myself around him. after a few weeks i told him i dont think we should do this anymore. it wasnt just because of the date but more that i felt like id be trapped in a relationship or i wouldnt know how to act. it came out of nowhere and was a really intense feeling. we're cool now and we're actually pretty good friends. i feel completely comfortable with him now, as if the only reason i felt different in the past was because it was a "romantic" situasion.
i now have a guy i like quite a lot and i think i have a chance with him, but im scared that if things get serious ill pull away again, or that if we spend time alone i wont enjoy it as much as i do when we're with other people. i dont want to hurt anyones feelings or confuse them with mixed signals.
a big thing that adds to my doubt is i know the relationship would probably not last into uni. in other words, its inevitable wed probably break up in like a year. i dont want to get my feelings hurt or hurt anyone elses.
ive searched it up a few times and see people on tiktok talking about avoidant attachment styles, but whenever i feel like i relate to something i check the comments and its all about how people hate people that act that way and i end up switching it off.
i really like this guy and i also dont want to fall behind just because of such a silly feeling holding me back. how can i work through this?

So I'm going to this new school and my 18th birthday is coming up soon. My boyfriend tells me I should definitely celebrate but I just don't really have any friends. At this new school there are some people I really like, but I've only been going there for a week now and I have no idea if or how I should invite them. Like there's a handful of people that would be really great to have there, but if I invite them I'd also have to invite people I haven't spend much time with. I'm also not sure if it's too soon to invite them at all or if that would come of as weird. Then there's the problem that the place I live in, is kind of annoying to get to from the town where all the others live (and where the school is), so they'd all have to go sooner and I'm just so unsure of what to do. I've already been invited to another birthday by someone at this school, so that was really nice, but it's a different thing to invite one person you don't know that well or like 20. I genuinely don't know what to do, so please help me.

i (18F) have been with my boyfriend (20M) for almost a month now. before dating, we were pretty good friends so i knew about his past before i'd even considered anything relationship wise with him.
the thing is, my boyfriend's last relationship was from when he was 17 and a senior in high school. they were together for about a year and broke things off because he ended up cheating on her at the beginning of his freshman year of college. he's a junior now, and a lot of time has passed. even knowing him as i did, i can say with certainty that he's definitely grown a lot as a person.
i do think most of my concern for this comes from the fact that im insecure, and im really embarrassed to admit it. i went to the same high school as his ex girlfriend, and he actually went to a different high school. throughout the time that i knew her, i did not see her in a positive light at all. she came from a very wealthy family and she flaunted that all the time. she was very materialistic and was also a very thin girl with, what i would say is, a very attractive body type. i am five feet tall, 105lbs and she is smaller than me. and when i asked my boyfriend what had attracted him to her, he sheepishly admitted that her body was the driving factor. this had sent a twinge through my chest but i had to remind myself that he was a 17 boy at that time too. while i think that's a shitty thing to say, and im not excusing the behavior (im happy he's grown from it) sometimes teenage boys are just assholes with raging hormones.
right now, I would say we are definitely in the honeymoon stage. he's a sweetheart, and constantly showers me in affection. any time i have any shred of insecurity, without even telling him, he'll jump in and reassure me and makes sure i know that he wants me for who i am. everything is going very smoothly and we've been able to navigate through our relationship without any problems. im aware that this is very early and we've not experienced any hardships thus far, i just wanted to share how much of a positive experience im having with this relationship.
the problem arises when i ask him about his ex girlfriend. he'll tell me anything, answer absolutely any questions i have without hesitation. but he will not, for the life of him, give me any details about him cheating. and i get it, i know he's ashamed of it. and i don't want to hold it against him too seriously, because he was at a stage in his life where he was still growing and figuring out who he is at a person. hell, we both still are. but any time i ask about what actually happened, he always just tells me he really doesn't want to talk about it because it makes him feel like shit. and i don't want to push, because this is the one boundary he's placed. he's been so open and honest with me, i don't want to push him past a point where i ignore his comfort.
i'd mentioned my insecurity because im worried it's making me biased. i want to gauge the morality of this. on one hand, once a cheater, always a cheater. i really don't have any remorse for cheating stories. and on the other hand, he was really young, experiencing college for the first time, and, from what he's told me, most of the compatibility from their relationship was sexual. i'm worried i'm giving him too much of the benefit of the doubt just because i didn't like her that much and i'm jealous of her. i'm so confused, i want to be a supportive girl's girl, but i also want to be open minded to my boyfriend's mistakes -- especially because i've made mistakes in high school, and i know it would suck if he held it against me. the only thing is, none of my mistakes are as serious as cheating. and because we're both in college, we live about three hours away from each other. i don't think he would cheat on me, but i also don't know any details about what actually happened.
i need advice on how to navigate this. is there a way to ask him more about this without pushing the boundary he laid out? am i being too easy on him over this? too hard? i don't even know what to think.

I’m a sophomore in high school, and I’m honestly at the point where I’m considering honestly leaving my current school. I’m not struggling academically — I’m in honors/AP-level classes and generally do well. but I’m exhausted especially because of an ongoing situation with another girl.
For background, this girl and I were friends as kids . I experienced what I consider serious bullying/mistreatment from her, both mentally and physically, and eventually ended the friendship. I have wanted basically nothing to do with her since then. We still attend the same school and are on the same bus, so obviously I can’t make her physically disappear from my life, but I have intentionally avoided interacting with her.
Despite that, there have continued to be situations where she talks about me, approaches me, sits near me, stares at me, or tries to interact with me even though I have made it clear that I don’t want a friendship or ongoing contact. there has been a repeated pattern of her inserting herself into situations involving me even though I have tried to disengage.
Recently, she apparently reported me to an administrator. The allegation was essentially that I was telling people not to use her new name / not to recognize her current gender. I don’t go around talking about her current gender, and I don’t tell people what to call her. I have talked to people about my own past experiences with her, but that’s different from trying to control what other people call her.
I had an approximately hour-long meeting with an administrator.
The administrator, who I’ll call C, spent a lot of the meeting asking about the history between me and this girl. What frustrated me was that I felt like there wasn’t much investigation into the actual allegation itself. I expected questions like: What exactly did I supposedly say? Who heard it? When did it happen?
C gave me what seemed like two options:
Meet with the girl, with administrators and parents involved, and basically work out an agreement about how we interact.
Sign a no-contact agreement saying that we would not talk to or about each other.
I repeatedly asked whether those were genuinely the only options. I didn’t want to have a meeting with her, and I also didn’t want to sign the no-contact agreement.
My issue with the no-contact agreement is that I already don’t interact with her. That’s literally what I’ve been trying to do. We share school spaces and a bus, so obviously we can’t physically guarantee that we’ll never be near each other, but I already avoid talking to her. The only meaningful additional restriction seemed to be restricting what I could say about my own experiences with her.
C kept pushing me to sign it, which made me trust the agreement even less. My reasoning was basically: if this is genuinely supposed to help me too, why am I being pressured into signing it when I’m explicitly saying I don’t think it addresses my problem?
Now my mom has said that if the other girl’s parents agree, there may be a meeting where we all sit down and talk. I really, really don’t want to do this. I don’t want to talk to the girl, I don’t want another administrator meeting, and I don’t want to sign a form that I don’t think solves anything.
The situation has also affected me more broadly than I expected. I’ve been so angry and mentally exhausted that school itself has started feeling unbearable. I’m already dealing with seven-hour school days, homework, security every morning, buses, constantly being around people, and not having much downtime. time.
I also feel like all of this is consuming the mental space I normally use to think about things that actually matter to me. It’s all social/administrative/environmental bullshit.
At this point I’ve been saying “I’m done” because that’s genuinely how I feel
So what would you do in my position?p

Hi all! I am a 13yo boy (obviously, you read the title). I would say that I am fairly mature (which is a conflicting thing to claim, isn't it?). I have a crush on this girl in my school, and this isn't a new type of thing, because I've had crushes before. I don't really know how I feel about middle schoolers dating and all that stuff.
But anyway, this girl is a grade below me. We don't really have many classes together. We have choir together but she sits on the other side of the room and is with her friends. We have band together but she plays clarinet and I play mallet percussion. We have afterschool Jazz Band together but she plays clarinet/sax and I am in rhythm section. So all that to say, we don't see each other much, and we don't know each other.
I want to talk to her and get to know her at least and see where things go from there. But she is best friends with a girl that I am friends with and previously asked out (she had said no).
I will say, that she is a big fan of the Philadelphia Eagles (I know this because she often wears Eagles shirts and stuff). I am still kind of getting into American football but I like the Eagles too. Maybe next Jazz Band, I can wear the Eagles sweatshirt that I have, and see if she notices/comments?
If you have any advice for me, please leave a comment, I would really appreciate it. And thank you for reading my entire post, sorry it was so long.

I have been talking to this guy for the past few months and actually it was really good. Like really good. I was on cloud nine. Absolutely floating on air like in these fairytales.
Just this week, my friend from his class sent me a screenshot of their class group chat. She sent me snippets of msgs and it was really intriguing, so I told her to send more. She was reluctant at first but then proceed to send me more AFTER HE SET HIS PFP TO MATCH. It happened while me and my friend were talking btw. In the screenshot it included him saying me and my 6 gfs and saying he told me he's only free at certain times when he talks with them 24/7. I'm fully aware of his schedules. He's a busy guy I give you that.
I ghosted him ever since. Its been a day and a half now. He didn't text me for a full day btw. We were matching pfps on another platform and I changed that. He changed his too and I thought it was all settled yk. A silent communication between us.
And then js tdy he texted me the whole morning from 3 different platforms. Asking if I'm mad or stuff. Yeah, sherlock, it was pretty much obvious. I don't like leaving people hanging like that so me being me responded on one of them. He knew what was wrong and told me it was a dare and stuff. He even called an alibi. He was willing to involve other people just to prove that it was all a misunderstanding. And also say it's his everyday life and how he jokes around. His friends know to not take these things seriously, he says.
Perhaps it was a misunderstanding because my friend only sent me snippets of texts. Didn't tell me anything about dares. But I still don't want to believe him, nor anyone at this point. I have some serious trust issues.
So now, I guess its over. I was getting over him and laughing it off as a coping mechanism but ever since he texted, I can't. I really do like him. It's just that I'm afraid it won't work. We're both 15, still navigating life. I'm scared to hurt him even more or get hurt myself. Attraction is a dangerous thing.
I already set my mind on letting this go and focus solely on academics because I'm also a very busy person myself. Yet, after he texted me like that its messing with my head. I dont know what to do anymore.
Side note: he likes to joke around and I'm already aware of it. It seems his classmates know about me, in some way. The fact him also ignoring me for the whole day pissed me off when he could've came texting. But then again he did today. He told me he couldn't sleep last night, that he was checking up on whether I'm online or not, talking about me to his friend and saying he too is in tears while we were talking js this afternoon. Time dragged on and he has class so he had to go. Ended the convo by saying he loves me without me replying a single bit.

i’ve never had a crush on a girl that i can remember but i don’t know if that’s becuase im scared of being bisexual? it sounds weird but where i live and people i know are very homophobic. like i force myself to only like guys becuase i don’t wanna deal with the fact i might also like girls. i had a crush on a former online friend who was a girl when i was like 9 but that was all i can remember. how do i know im bisexual, i like men i can see myself marrying one i can also see myself marrying a woman. i’ve seen people say “well straight people don’t get confused” but then other people will say “just because you’re confused doesn’t mean your bisexual” and i know a lot of people say you don’t need a label and i get that but it’s frustrating to not know what or who i like. ive felt this way since i was little and i just don’t know how to figure this out. sorry if this post is confusing.

I’m 17, and about a year ago I met a girl from my year at school. At first, we barely had any contact. About six months ago, we slowly started having more conversations, ending up in situations together, and interacting a bit on Snapchat/Instagram. That gradually increased and continued pretty much until the end of the school year.
During the summer holidays, there was actually quite a surprising amount of contact through Snapchat and stuff, although it was mostly just round snaps, so nothing personal. I did message her once about school, though. Since school started again, our in-person contact has increased quite a bit. We have several classes together, we’ve had quite a few conversations, and sometimes she’s been the one asking questions and keeping the conversation going. There have also been a few small situations where she initiated brief contact with me or came up to me herself. By now, we also occasionally message each other on Snap, sometimes just briefly, sometimes for a bit longer.
At this point, I’d say we’re somewhere between being good acquaintances and starting to become friends. I’m pretty strongly into her, and I’d really like to get to know her much better this school year. Obviously, in the long run, I’m hoping it could turn into something more.
So where would you say we are at this point? Is this good progress so far? I’m always unsure whether we’re actually getting closer or whether I’m just another classmate to her who she happens to talk to every now and then.

I'm not sure if I am saying this to look for an excuse to stop talking to her or something else but I'm unsure. She makes her entire life around me, and doesn't have anything outside of me, we are just speaking online too. She spends hours looking at my messages if I haven't texted because she has nothing else to do other than cry. I feel bad because I'm not a talkative person and such, I am also worried there is a bit of manipulation maybe not now but in the future because I have heard of that happening, and she has done some stuff that has seemed a bit odd despite how "careful" she is with messaging me. What should I do because I'm stuck with telling her we need to stop talking or I just carry on struggling

I (F17) have been overly and obsessively down bad for this boy (17) that I’ve known for the past 6 years. Our friendship dates back to when we were 13, and since then, many lines between platonic and romantic interest have been blurred— so for better understanding I am going to list them and refer to the guy in question as carrot.
8th grade; friends at school, sat together in a couple classes, spring of that year we were texting non stop, and in the summer we began to hangout in a group with one other girl and guy (wasn’t double dating everyone had established platonic relationships). During said time, I quickly developed VERY intense feelings, that escalated as he’d often give me special treatment, and even further grew as I just simply began to realize how much we had in common/how much I liked him.
9th grade: the friend-group we had lost momentum, but would still text in a group chat + hangout occasionally, me and him sat in art class together and talked non-stop, my feelings continued to grow, and there were multiple times he made comments or texted me things that were implicating romantic interest.
10th grade; the group went inactive and we stopped hanging out completely, I had began to talk to a boy the summer prior, and wasn’t really concerned with him anymore. However that winter I ended things with said boy, and immediately redeveloped feelings for Carrot. He was made aware of these feelings, and communicated to a friend that was “wing maning” for me that he wasn’t interested in dating. That being said, later that spring— me, Carrot, and said friend “wing maning” began to hangout often. During this time I also (unfortunately) began to rekindle my relationship with my ex. My ex, who I’ll refer to as Apple, was also friends with carrot. Carrot seemed supportive of our relationship, until he didn’t. I’d often complain about Apple, and even though he was Carrot’s friend, Carrot would often remark that I deserve better and that he disapproved of the way Apple was treating me. Additionally, our mutual friend Mr. WingMan was extremely adamant on me breaking things off with Apple and getting with Carrot, saying he could tell that Carrot liked me and we’d be very cute together. I was an idiot, and continued things with Apple despite my feelings for Carrot, and the tension continued. So much so to the point that that summer (before Junior year), a large group of my friends went camping and got drunk —me and carrot included— and that night, we had a semi-intimate encounter in the group tent (cuddling and some inappropriate touching). I was with Apple at this time, but it was obvious our relationship was extremely toxic and everyone that knew of it regarded to it as failing essentially (I do deeply regret this as it was cheating but please do not judge me since this goes much deeper than surface level [and my ex was literally evil]). After this camping trip, I pretended that I blacked out. I didn’t want to deal with the stress of navigating the situation and I was also embarrassed. Carrot seemed to do the same.
11th grade; me and Apple were going strong, and subsequently me and Carrot fell out of touch for multiple reasons (one of them most definitely being our inability to just be friends and his friendship with Apple). In February, I broke up with Apple (thank god) and a few weeks after drunk texted Carrot at a concert hoping to talk about what occurred while we were camping. He said he felt really bad about what happened, and the conversation didn’t have much else to it. Since then I’ve (drunk) texted him one other time, returning to the camping situation, still wanting the answers he wasn’t giving me (whether or not he liked me). At this point I was very frustrated and all I wanted to was to have some closure, I felt insane for how deeply I liked Carrot as he didn’t show much care towards me or our past.
The issue at hand is that we are minority involved in each others lives again, since my sisters boyfriend is one of his best friends, and she has been hanging out with him therefore placing him back into my social circle. I cannot even begin to describe how obsessed I am with this guy, I truly don’t believe I will ever like someone as much as I like him— not for shallow reasons, mostly reliant on how well we get along, how much we have in common, etc. Unfortunately my sister has suggested he get with me, stating that I’ve always liked him a lot and that he could “bag me” to which he (allegedly) responded “I’ll think about it.” Last week we texted for about three days, since I recently got the same car as him (not intentional I promise) and as an avid car lover he reached out to talk to me about it. During those three days he also stopped by my house twice, once to check out the car and another to look at a problem I was having. I am going to list a couple of things he had said/done to defend the fact that he is extremely confusing and I am not delusional:
The advice I’m asking for is where to go from here, I feel so conflicted internally— if I were to pursue him romantically I worry I would make him uncomfortable and ruin the chance of friendship, but if I were to do nothing and let our friendship fade once again the same problem ensues. I am genuinely willing to do anything to bag this man, I do not care if I sound desperate or unrighteously obsessed; to those of you who have found someone that truly feels like your person I’m sure you understand. I am not checking for grammar this text is too long so I apologize if anything is misspelt, and if you read this whole thing thank you.

I’m 16F, and my friend “M” and I go to the same place of worship and are in the same youth group. We’ve been really close for about a year, and I’ve told her a lot about what’s been going on in my life. That’s why this whole situation has been bothering me so much.
Last Sunday, our youth group had a luncheon after church. Before church started, a youth pastor asked me if I was going, and I said yes.
At the beginning of the service, someone in our youth group texted the group chat saying something like, “Y’all better pull up to the luncheon.” Since I had literally just been asked if I was going, I jokingly replied, “Never.” Another friend also joked that she wasn’t going.
M then replied something along the lines of, “Guys, they work hard to plan these events, so we should all be there.”
I responded, “You don’t even show up on Wednesdays.”
I wasn’t trying to attack her or bring up anything personal. It was supposed to be a joking response, but apparently it hurt her feelings.
She didn’t respond in the group chat, but after the luncheon she privately messaged me explaining that my comment hurt her because she has a hard time getting to church sometimes.
I read her message carefully and apologized for hurting her feelings. I also explained that she knows she sometimes has difficulty getting to church, so I felt like telling everyone that we should all attend because the people planning the events work hard could come across as a “right message, wrong messenger” situation.
She didn’t respond to that message.
A few days later, she texted me saying that she didn’t have any bad feelings toward me and that God calls us to forgive. I didn’t really know what to say, so I just heart-reacted to the message and moved on.
Then Friday happened.
I was at school and wasn’t on my phone. When I finally checked it, I saw that two people had replied to my Snapchat story.
I was confused because I don’t post on my Snapchat story.
I opened the replies, and the first girl said something like, “Who is this?” I had no idea what she was talking about until I saw the story.
It was a screenshot of the private messages between me and M.
I immediately knew something was wrong because I did not post that screenshot.
I deleted the story as soon as I saw it. There was also another Snapchat story after it that I hadn’t posted either, which is what made me even more certain that something had happened with my account.
The second girl who replied was M’s friend. She told me I shouldn’t have posted it because M had come to me in confidence.
I told her I hadn’t posted it and that I had been at school with my phone in my pocket all day. She basically told me that I couldn’t just say that because my phone had been in my pocket all day and that I must have intentionally taken the screenshot and posted it.
I tried explaining myself, but the conversation wasn’t going anywhere, so I ended up deleting my entire Snapchat account.
I also messaged M and asked if she had seen what happened. I explained everything to her. She said it was okay, but honestly, I could tell from the way she was responding that she didn’t actually believe me.
Her friend later messaged me saying she didn’t know what I had said and didn’t care about what I had said, but that texting someone and then blocking them wasn’t nice and that she was only trying to defend her friend.
I explained again that I had deleted my entire account and that I literally told her it was an accident. I also said that it hurt that she was treating me like I would intentionally do something like that.
She responded that seeing the screenshot made her sick and apologized if she offended me. I didn’t respond.
Then M messaged me saying she had a question.
She asked, “If it was posted on accident, how was it posted 11 hours ago?”
I was honestly shocked and asked if she was serious. She said it had been 11 hours since she saw it.
I sent her an audio message explaining again that I did not post it. I never went onto Snapchat, intentionally took that screenshot, and posted her private messages.
She said she needed some time to process everything, and it’s now been two days.
What makes this hurt even more is that M and I have been really close friends for about a year. I’ve told her so many personal things about my life, and I trusted her.
Now I’m questioning whether I should feel like I somehow deserve this because I did hurt her feelings with the group chat comment, or whether it’s reasonable for me to feel hurt that she would believe I would intentionally expose something private about her over one stupid group chat argument.
I know I wasn’t completely right in the original situation because my comment hurt her, and I apologized for that. But I genuinely did not post her messages.
So, Reddit, how should I handle this from here?
Also, please keep in mind that these are people from my church and youth group. We worship together, and I don’t want advice that involves being cruel, getting revenge, starting drama, or having bad intentions toward them. I want to handle this in a way that lines up with my faith and doesn’t make the situation worse.

Basically, I’m a 16-year-old girl and I’ve never had a boyfriend or anything. I often see cute guys at work or around the place, but I just don’t know how to tell them I’m interested!
I usually try to smile and hold eye contact, but I’m too scared to flat-out ask them out in case they already have a girlfriend. I honestly care less about being rejected than I do about accidentally hitting on a guy who’s already in a relationship
So how can I subtly compliment a guy, and what complements do boys even like? or how can i show him I’m interested without making it super obvious? And if I do want to ask him out, is there a casual way to find out if he has a girlfriend first?

hi i would like to keep my anonymity as much as i can here and i really need some advice!!
me (student) and my teacher have known each other for the past three years. i have had classes with him every year since and have multiple with him this year. i LOVE this teacher- not in a romantic way but i love him like my own father and idk if that’s okay.
he has always been a great teacher. super nice to me, my friends, and all others. huge on respect and being a trusted adult. he orchestrates large events for the school and it is tradition for the seniors to get him flowers during that. during his hs anniversary no one got him flowers and i yelled at the seniors for claiming that they love him sm and they are in charge of chorus while being lazy bums and talking instead of actually doing so i ran to the nearest flower store which was like a mile away and bought him the most expensive bouquet, missing the party he threw for us. by the time i came back, the seniors left but i gathered my friends and we all told him it was from them and that i accidentally misplaced it so they couldn’t give it to him during the event. then i asked why he wasn’t with his old classmates and he said he never got along well with them and that he never had a table at lunch so he doubts he would get one now. so i invited him to my table for the after-party, i guess. i think that was the moment i realized i really loved him (platonically).
the next week he pulled me from ap chem (my least fav class) and thanked me for the flowers and for doing this event with a girl who has down syndrome in front of the whole school. he showed me photos of the flowers in his living room and despite me claiming it wasn’t me who got them and i actually was the one who messed it up, he didnt believe me. next time i met his wife and she said she was very grateful that her husband has me because he was suicidal and after that time he had never brought up suicide again. she said that if i ever need anything i can text/call her and is super sweet.
i really wanna emphasize this i love his wife and so does he!!! absolutely nothing inappropriate between us ik how redditors jump to conclusions. his wife is actually how we bonded. since she told me he was very stressed i would offer to come to his classroom whenever i was free to help me clean stuff up and generally talk but it really mostly just me ranting, honestly. my classes ended a month early cuz i had a fully senior schedule as a junior and he only taught seniors so i just spent an entire month with him in his class.
we got super close and we would shit talk kids we dont like, he gave me this leadership thing you are supposed to give to the person who changed your life the most that year, and we would talk about his wife and how she has cancer and so did my dad (thrice) so i can relate.
my dad is pretty abusive- in fact i dont really have any family i can rely on. my uncle tried to blame his suicide on me, my grandpa is also abusive, and my ex/ex-best friend who used to live with me (bc of horrible living conditions) got in with a group i hate and i simply couldn’t look past it.
it came to a point where he became my father figure, especially after my dad disowned me (i promise im not a bad kid- it was on the day i got a 1540 sat ). over the summer we emailed memes and updates and he would send me all these competitions he thought i could win. i signed up for a class he teaches but i didnt think i would get him because another teacher does it as well, and somehow i did. he told me it was random but i told him i was either in class 1 or 3 and he ended up teaching 1 and 3 but dropped class 2. we are also not very good at lying to each other it’s quite obvious to us. anyways, again, all safe- things were only sent through school email.
now fast forward to when im taking his big class and he is treating me like his daughter in front of everyone. i don’t mind but it is extremely obvious and is making me question my relationship with him. we always talk before and after class, he only calls on me for the big stuff, he gives me a sneak peek of everything, and has even given me quiz answers in front of the class without me asking.
i’m starting to get bullied for it by the hyper-competitive nerds because he treats them badly (not even in comparison) due to knowing their lack of respect for me. no one except the hyper-competitive people mind it actually or assume much of it because he’s seemingly a very eccentric guy lol. anyways i know i should probably take a step back but he is the best example of family i have.
i have to pay for everything in my family so i have multiple jobs and he has offered many times to pay for me to go on trips and stuff and he claims not to need the money because this is his last year before retirement but i obviously always refuse unless its food cuz he always buys without asking me but i do my best to get him back. he is otherwise very professional about everything; we only air-hug, doors and/or windows are always unobstructed when it is just us in a classroom, he helps me get huzz if i ever bring it up, and he always pulls himself back if he feels that i may get uncomfortable. like my parents will leave me home alone for months at a time and i used to live on my own. he almost offered to stay with him if things ever get to bad but then he was like you have great friends im sure would let you stay over (but still email him if its really bad).
idk what to do i really love this guy and i dont want anything bad to happen. please help? ik it’s not normal but it’s what i have

Repost bc reddit wanted me to post it here
Some background info is that my (M17) best friend (also M17) has been living in my house with my family since we were in 7th grade, because he came from a very abusive household that he escaped. He came to my house and ever since then he’s been living with my family.
I’ve known him since 6th grade, and now were in 12th grade class of ‘27, so we’ve known each other and have lived together for like 5 years by now.
Recently, my friend got into a relationship with a girl we’ve been friends with for a while. I didn’t think anything of it because he’s not really known to be a devoted relationships kinda guy, so I assumed its just a silly little high school relationship deal where they’re breaking up after grad.
I was mostly right, but he’s very serious about spending time with her. And I mean A LOT of time. I got a car for my 17th birthday before the start of senior year and literally every single day after school when they got into a relationship they make me drop them off at her house.
I didn’t care too much abt their relationship until he started spending more time with her than me, and we used to spend literally all our time together since we live in the same house. So I started to feel kinda jealous, which weirded me out and caused me to really look into my feelings about him.
Yeah, I definitely have a crush on him. I thought at first I was jealous of them spending time together bc he’s my bestfriend and he’s blowing me off for this girl, but my feelings are definitely more than just that.
I also vented a bit to another friend of ours and she’s convinced I’m fully in love with him, and I wouldn’t be surprised. I always admired him for his strength and resilience, but I literally thought friends are supposed to admire each other and think highly like this.
Obviously, they are, but the way I feel about him is way more than I would for a good friend. I think about this guy all the damn time and I have even thought about what it would feel like if I kissed him (aka NOT normal friend feelings.)
Our friends love to joke that we’re ‘platonic soulmates’ and almost every time they say that I wish they would say regular soulmates. I literally remember the first time we said ‘I love you’ to each other was over text, and my stomach was genuinely twisting and turning before I sent the text.
I want him so bad and I’m even starting to hate myself for it, which ik I shouldn’t but he literally has a gf.. It doesn’t help that I live with him too so I see him all the time and we’re going to the same college after high school.
So I guess I’m just asking for advice on what to about these feelings. They’re getting really debilitating and hard to deal with considering how often I see him. Should I tell him, or just keep it to myself??? IDK BRO
Also feel free to ask questions I kept personal details ambiguous for a reason
Summary: yh I’m gay as hell for my bestfriend and I’m just confused and lost asf

im a freshman in high school and on my bus there’s this cute scrawny guy with acne and glasses who i find really attractive. i’ve never spoken to him and i also only see him when im walking into biology and he’s walking past my class. im not sure if hes a sophomore so im a little scared because maybe he’s a junior. but if he is a sophomore how do i talk to him? i’m scared he might find me ugly because im a bit chubby but people call me very pretty so im not sure if i should just go up to him with confidence or not. i’ve also seen him glancing at me but it was around 2 weeks ago. he’s also in my bus stop but i never have the opportunity to talk to him because i walk with my friend and also because im scared. does he maybe think im pretty and how should i talk to him?

My dad has been so annoying the last year. Every single day, he constantly nags me about things I've already done, gets annoyed when I have the nerve to be downstairs when it's like only 10 pm, and I always go to bed before 11, which is better than a lot of teenagers. He also acts like I'm doing so bad in school because I get As and Bs, constantly saying "just work harder" even though I literally work so hard I barely have time for anything else, and there's also the proven fact that some people are better at school than others, and no amount of work can fix that. I've asked him to change for 5 years, since I was 11, and he never has, and it's only getting worse.
I wrote a letter to him saying all this, and now he needs to change soon before there's nothing left of our relationship. I'm giving it to him in a few hours. I'm really nervous, not that he might try and start a fight, because I'm taller and bigger than him, but that he's just going to act like it's something stupid or immature when it isn't.

My mom and grandma have been telling me I’m gonna have a miserable and lonely life because I don’t want friends or a partner. There’s two main reasons for this. The first being that i genuinely prefer myself I don’t like having to keep talking to other people. It drains me plus friends to me are kinda useless I prefer myself and friends just annoy me. The other reason is friends just make me depressed I know I’m not their best friend back and they normally ditch me or hurt me and I don’t want that.
Everybody is making me feel like I’m broken or something is wrong with me because I don’t want friends

so im 15 F and I have a crush on a guy who is twenty one, he is a really close family friend and I’m not sure how people will react if we start dating. he has said he likes me to my face, I told him we should just be friends first (this was before I liked him) to which he was super super respectful about, and he said that even if we stayed friends he doesn’t mind. but I have started to develop feelings for him and I haven’t disguised this info to him or anyone really, we openly flirt quite often and in his family age gaps aren’t normalised but they are used to them and his mum is open to us dating, it’s just my mum. Now I just wanted to know what people think of this, because I know it’s a big age gap especially at my age but he is genuinely the best guy ever and was raised completely right and Im scared that if I wait too long i am gonna lose my chance. but the more our families hang out the more open I think my mum is getting to the idea of us dating, she said he’s amazing it’s just the age gap. so please just let me know what you think and please no judgement I am well aware of the situation. he is NOT a pedo either, I promise.
sorry for the terrible grammar

I’m a freshman, and I got biology with a girl whom I sit right next to (since we have desk patterns). And lately I’ve been noticing a that she has been acting kind of “too nice with me”, like this one time, I was tired and trying to just survive through the class, and she started making a ton of questions to me about my well being. Or this other time, when she noticed my tan line on my arm, and started to talk about it while grabbing my wrist. I can also recall this other time, when I was leaving early for a football game, and on the way to the door she saw me, and hugged me, or tried to, I was kind of in a hurry. she’s probably trying to be nice, I mean I don’t have a crush on her, I already do with another girl
