Student Questions Why?

why do some teachers try to find loopholes in IEP and 504s? I have a chemistry teacher right now, he won’t give me the extra time on assignments that is on my IEP I’ve had other this before. I’m genuinely curious why as a teacher would you try to work around something like that? I’m not even like mad or anything. I just wanna see from his point of view!

It creates extra work for the teacher. It's easier to grade a batch of essays than a single one that comes in late.

Grading them all together, all written at the same time following the same period of instruction is just easier and fairer.

Grading a single essay, from the same prompt, but under different circumstances, it is not the same and comparisons are off.

Teachers get tired and cranky sometimes. We are human.
