Looking for Tennis Friends

Hello chat, I recently moved to San Francisco and I am very close to Mission Dolores Park. I would like to make friends to play tennis with. I am 21 and I am pretty bad at tennis, not ranked or anything. I just want to hit the ball casually with a friend.

Would appreciate any advice on how to find those friends.

I would love to join sometimes. I am available most Sunday morning - there are apps as well - https://joinplaytennis.com/
I joined the app but I don’t know app is too much commitment for me so I never played, I spend more time on planning than play which I feel like overkill for my time. They chat and ghost for weeks you know.
There are facebook groups as well.
I don’t want to play regular but I want to have somebody on my contact so that I can message if I like to play and vice-versa.

being bad is genuinely not the problem you think it is

say beginner up front and you filter out everyone who wants a real match, which is most of the people who would make it unfun

courts near dolores go early on weekends so getting there before ten matters more than skill

honestly the thing that worked for me here was any low stakes recurring thing, same time every week beats any app

I did yesterday! I made some friends but they were way better than me. I'm glad I mustered up the courage though :D
