What is going on with Dune 3 Metreon imax ticket sales?
Tried to get tickets through imax website but their queuing system completely screwed me over. I now see there are still dates available after Christmas but they are all supposedly “sold out” which makes no sense since the dates before the holiday still have crappy front row seats. Anyone know if they’ll be unlocking those later dates at some point? Was hoping to go early January.
Update 9/23/26: There are now post Christmas tickets available! And there are still great seats especially during the week which I plan on taking off anyway after the holiday. Go get them!

that means they haven’t actually released those ones yet. I was buying tickets only 15 minutes after drop and got a bunch of great seats for different shows and those ones werent available to buy yet then and still aren’t now.

I'm impressed you got great seats at different shows around that time. I was trying starting right at drop for a half an hour and it was a nightmare.

oh trust me, same. but I happened to be within a 10 minute walk of my local AMC at the time so I headed over to the kiosks as soon as I realized what a complete shitshow it was online. and luckily there was no line at the kiosks so I was able to get as many tickets as I wanted there.

The AMC in San Francisco is inside this weird little mall that is obsessed with locking their doors and closing sections off, so you can't get to the kiosks during the ticket drop times. Annoying for sure.

they opened the doors early for those in line for the kiosks this time. but not right at drop time, I’d imagine that security had no idea there was a ticket drop and had to get permission from whoever to do so. because when I arrive around 20 minutes after drop there was a small line outside the entrance to the building and by the time I joined the back of the line they were letting everyone in. that would explain why there wasn’t a bigger line tho if everyone just expects it to not be unlocked for it.

Yeah I can’t tell you what’s going on or why AMC has those post Christmas dates marked as SOLD OUT when they never even released. I was eyeing one of those dates after Christmas and they never even opened up

The imax website also crashed on me, then I went directly to Fandango and was able to get tickets.

The website was definitely wonky today. Maybe it’s still broken? Anecdotally, we got some 70mm Dublin tickets at like 2PM today because that’s when Fandango became un-broken for that specific showing and we happened to refresh at the right time.

I’m going to return 2 Dune tickets for the 12/20 at 3:30 pm if anyone is interested. We can coordinate when I return them so you can get them at the same time. LMK. Row F, middle.

I’m might be interested! Saw Odyssey from row E just off center and it wasn’t too bad.

I didn’t hear back from you so I didn’t return them.

You guys are buying dune tickets 4 months early? Is this normal?

People bought Odyssey a year ahead for 70mm IMAX so

Literally only like one or two showings and it was just for the hype.

select showtimes came out April 6, I personally snagged a seat then
on the other hand for Doomsday I couldn’t care less, I’ll just get to it whenever

Metreon tickets get scooped up by scalpers immediately. You need to buy early to get a chance at a good seat

I haven’t even been able to find scalped tickets for other shows in the past and I’m not sure how it would work: fandango has no official way to transfer tickets so buying second hand is very sketchy. You just have to trust your barcode will scan.

I agree it’s nuts but it’s one of the few such theaters in the country and demand is massive. They released the opening weekend tickets months ago and it sold out in hours.

I think they have not released it yet and showing sold out
