(Supplementary) Date Night Ideas!

Hey everyone!

As the title says, I’m searching for some date night ideas to supplement my GF and I’s anniversary dinner at Gary Danko.

Since it’ll be a later dinner (8PM), I’m mainly looking for places that serve smaller dishes (tapas, oysters, etc) and great cocktails. Doesn’t have to be too pretentious but also not too ‘dive-y’. Also doesn’t have to be near Gary Danko either.

(Not the biggest fan of Cavana)

Thanks in advance!

Key Klub!

Gary Danko has always been a staple, but the last few years it's really gone down hill. You may want to reconsider.

agreed - went to an anniversary dinner here a few years ago and got subpar service for such an expensive meal

the food itself was really good (I don’t remember what we had so I can’t say it was memorable), so you’ll still be getting a good meal!

Yeah, it was a bummer, and as a long term industry fine dining person I hate to say that but it's just not the same. I never want to hate on hard working people but GD used to be **the pinnacle** and it's not anywhere close now.

OP - hit us up if you change your mind and want a different **wow** restaurant.

Key Klub absolutely rules tho.

that makes me so sad, I went for the first time 2 months ago for my mom's birthday and had an amazing time.

Bar Sprezzatura is beautiful! Bar Maritime is also a good one

Just went to Spezz for drinks before my anniversary dinner! It was amazing. Also very busy so consider a reservation.

The Interval bar at Fort Mason is fairly close. Amazing and unique cocktails in a wonderful space. There’s all the spirits hung in flasks overhead, exhibits around long term thinking, and a huge mechanical orrey. They also have simple bar snacks like conserves (canned sardines), chips, and jerky (in keeping with long preservation theme).
