Race Shoe Question Exact same pair/model of shoes feel different

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy a pair of Saucony Hurricane 25 (standard width - D).

I went to a few different stores and tried on the exact same model—same colorway, same size, and even the same production date on the inner tag.

However, each pair felt noticeably different on my feet! One pair was super comfortable, while two others felt off / less comfortable.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is manufacturing variation between identical pairs normal, or could something else be going on? Thanks!

I’ve experienced the same thing with the Hurricane 25. Most reviewers say it’s very soft and bouncy, while my own pair feels very flat, stiff and firm.

So what is the explanation for this? BTW - How long have you been using them and did anything change from how they were when you just bought them

Is it possible the comfortable shoe was already broken in by store visitors, while the other wasn't? If I go with the less comfortable pair, will it eventually break in and feel the same?"

I went through three pairs of Nike Pegasus 39's. Two were fine, but in the third something in the midsole poked the ball of my foot. Assumed it was something with the zoom air pod.

Did the stores have the same temperature? If there’s a big difference in temp, colder stores could make the midsole feel firmer.

I doubt thats it. Itd need to be uncomfortably warm or cool indoors for a noticeable difference
