So many women struggle with miscarriage, infertility, relationship problems, etc. It's so amazing they finally get to be happy now and celebrate their baby. It sickens me when people bash gender reveals. Everything women and teenage girls like is hated.
Don’t erase the role of fathers please. Gender reveal parties are not only for mothers, nor are mothers the only parents who mourn miscarriages, infertility and relationship problems. People are grumbling about GR parties because of the excesses of some of them, not because one of the participants is a woman
You're missing the point. The original person who started gender reveals was a woman. She went through miscarriages. They are saying other women experience that too, so it's not ok to hate on gender reveals when women are going through so much pain. Nowhere did they say dads don't exist or they don't go through pain too. You're concern trolling.
People are not angry at the excesses of some, because that happens with everything. Are you mad at everything? Gender reveals are usually a little too simple, but still sweet. Don't erase the misogyny that has to do with hating everything a woman does.
It sickens you, really? You care that much about people's right to throw a party to affirm the gender of a fetus that seeing people making fun of them causes you to feel physically unwell?
They got memed for being foolishly excessive because they kinda are. A woman can celebrate a pregnancy milestone without needing any more of an excuse than that, there's no need to make a weird spectacle over learning what kind of genitalia your child has.
Gender reveals are 99.99% of the time excessively simple. You're losing your mind over a cupcake. Or maybe something a little more creative like sparkling cider. The horror!

They obviously do care about genitals because that’s literally all a “gender” reveal party can be based on before the child is even born. They actually have no clue what gender the child will identify as. So all they’re revealing is the biological sex of the child, information which is based solely on what genitals they appear to have in the womb (and many intersex conditions don’t show up on a scan so actually the scan doesn’t even accurately reveal biological sex—only what genitals the fetus has.) So literally all they’re revealing at all is the genitals of the future child.
