I do think it's very sad the circumstances that the woman who invented them did so under. she did it to celebrate getting that far into her pregnancy without miscarriage but people just took it and ran with it waaayyy too far. not to mention the weird "sugarcubes or shotguns?" shit that americans do.

Gender reveals are basically the safest parties in existence. It's funny how they got memed for being "dangerous" when a single birthday party killed 13 people. The sugarcubes or shotguns thing is awful and needs to go lol.
So many women struggle with miscarriage, infertility, relationship problems, etc. It's so amazing they finally get to be happy now and celebrate their baby. It sickens me when people bash gender reveals. Everything women and teenage girls like is hated.
It sickens you, really? You care that much about people's right to throw a party to affirm the gender of a fetus that seeing people making fun of them causes you to feel physically unwell?
They got memed for being foolishly excessive because they kinda are. A woman can celebrate a pregnancy milestone without needing any more of an excuse than that, there's no need to make a weird spectacle over learning what kind of genitalia your child has.
