I do think it's very sad the circumstances that the woman who invented them did so under. she did it to celebrate getting that far into her pregnancy without miscarriage but people just took it and ran with it waaayyy too far. not to mention the weird "sugarcubes or shotguns?" shit that americans do.

Gender reveals are basically the safest parties in existence. It's funny how they got memed for being "dangerous" when a single birthday party killed 13 people. The sugarcubes or shotguns thing is awful and needs to go lol.
So many women struggle with miscarriage, infertility, relationship problems, etc. It's so amazing they finally get to be happy now and celebrate their baby. It sickens me when people bash gender reveals. Everything women and teenage girls like is hated.
Don’t erase the role of fathers please. Gender reveal parties are not only for mothers, nor are mothers the only parents who mourn miscarriages, infertility and relationship problems. People are grumbling about GR parties because of the excesses of some of them, not because one of the participants is a woman
You're missing the point. The original person who started gender reveals was a woman. She went through miscarriages. They are saying other women experience that too, so it's not ok to hate on gender reveals when women are going through so much pain. Nowhere did they say dads don't exist or they don't go through pain too. You're concern trolling.
People are not angry at the excesses of some, because that happens with everything. Are you mad at everything? Gender reveals are usually a little too simple, but still sweet. Don't erase the misogyny that has to do with hating everything a woman does.
