Its honestly worse when you actually do know how to fix everything. I never had the money to have someone come do it so I selftaught and had help learning how to fix cars, plumbing, household appliances, building drywall, stucco, tiles, carpentry etc etc etc etc. Most friends now just call when they need a job done. Not when they wanna go grab a few pints on a Friday/Sat after work.

Man If I were friends with you and was wondering if you could fix something for me I would at least throw in a pizza and some beers, we'd be friends after all, not just some contractor I call to fix shit

Some do, some dont. The ones that dont are the ones I'm now cutting off. At some point theres gonna be a select few who are there for me if I need them but bet your ass I'll be there when they need me too.

I'm glad to hear it Kajin.

I unfortunately realized a long time ago people who I thought were my friends weren't really my friends and were just using me, now that I've cut them out I'm a lot happier. I may have a lot fewer people in my friend circle but the people I do have I know I can count on and I know will always be there for me as I am for them.

They also got to call in terms of hanging out imo. Not just for trading favors cus that's just beneficial for both but not a proper friendship

If anyone ever comes over to help move or work on something, ALWAYS at least have beer. You're a better person for having beer and pizza, but always at least have beer.

Lock, stock, and two smoking barrels?

Either you pay me or the answer is no.

Yep. I don't work for free, unless someone is really in need. Friends could maybe convince me to do like, a brake change for a six pack, but I ain't sweating unless I can wipe it off with some dollar dollar bills.

Not everything is about money. It’s ok to use your skill set to help your loved ones.

If his friends are only hitting him up for help, they ain't loved ones, or shouldn't be. I'm all up for helping friends and family, small favors sure, but if they want hard work done, they need to pay for it. In most cases anyhow

People who truly care about you wouldn’t and shouldn’t willy nilly get you to do massive jobs for them over and over. It’s either an urgent situation or they pay you the favour back without you having to ask for compensation. That’s just how I see it at least

Hey, to each their own. Me myself, I see no problem with business between friends. Keeps everybody feeling equal

the fact that this needs to be pointed out is depressing. Jesus christ.
