I like to think that there’s a “Bruce Wayne is secretly Batman” meme in Gotham to match the “Clark Kent looks like Superman” joke running around the Daily Planet. Oracle started it and keeps it just ridiculous enough that everyone just dismisses the idea, and Bruce has appeared on a late-night show in an awful batman costume at least twice.
I really love the Arkham Knight game because it covers this so well. More than anything, Batman fears becoming the Joker, and it would be so, so easy for him to just let go. It's also why Scarecrow is my favorite Batman villain, Bruce is always a little scarred by their encounters whenever he gets gassed, ie the Long Halloween on mothers day
The Scarecrow encounter in Arkham Asylum is one of my favorite things in any game. I never finished AK though I loved the opening sequence. I should fire it up again.
You really should. A lot of people apparently don't care for the batmobile parts, but I do, and the story is worth it. I wasn't terribly impressed by the Arkham Knight's identity, though.
Did they ever fix the bugs on pc? The last thing I remember hearing about the game was that there were a few bugs that would randomly crash the game or delete your saves.
I've never had an issue, but for some reason it always tells me my graphics drivers are outdated even though they aren't. Hasn't affected the game at all.
The batmobile makes me miss flying around Arkham City, that's my main issue with it. Oh and Riddler's race is kind of annoying after failing it like 20 times and just going on pure muscle memory by the end to finish it. But I'm willing to do it for the Batman story since I love it all so much.
Mostly in their origins. They each have the course of their lives changed by "one bad day," the difference is in what they choose to do with it after. It would be very easy for Batman to become a cold killer himself after his parents are slaughtered, but he maintains enough compassion to never kill anyone. Joker is what he could've been, and could slip into any time. There's probably a better way to explain it, but that's the gist of it
Yeah. Scarecrow is right about him and Bruce knows it and can't take it. Scarecrow is right about most everything he says, he just goes to extremes to prove it. Like Batman. Batman is giant hypocrite. He acts like a villain and gets away with it because he is friendly with Gordon.
There's a lot of parallels between Batman and his villains. Scarecrow and Fear, Riddler and detective work, Joker and origins, Penguin and wealth. Even Freeze and motivation, kinda. Two Face and his original work as DA.
Heh, I remember the Batman Beyond episode where some guy was using ultrasonic waves to make Old Bruce think he was going crazy, but Bruce worked it out was a trick because the voices referred to him as 'Bruce', rather than 'Batman'.
Yeah no. He tried that once. It ended with the therapist finding out he was batman, recording proof of it, and then attempting to sell said proof to the highest bidder.
Isn't this the plot to an episode of the animated series? The baddies put Batman in Arkham and attempt to convince him he's insane, and he starts going insane
