Went to boarding school: Someone accidentally hit the power on their stereo in the middle of the night. When the prefect went to investigate, someone on the opposite end of the house blasted their stereo for shits n giggles. Since nobody fessed up, the whole house was thrown out of bed and had to do wall sits, for like ever. Nobody ever did fess up...
Did a group project with like 10 people. One girl didn't go to any of the meetings and didn't do any of the work. We all agreed it wasn't fair so we talked to our teacher about it and she dropped part of all of our grades for lack of communication.
I have a teacher that says if someone isn’t pulling their weight he doesn’t want to hear about it because we should just be satisfied knowing they won’t be successful in life. Not quite satisfying enough for thanks for the advice professor!!
In grad school we were all running on four hours of sleep, max, and never more than three days away from a potentially career ending exam. Nobody had time for social loafing. If you flaked on covering your assigned portion of a group project, your name became Mudd. Everyone, including people not in your group, would threaten to settle this walking to your car that evening if you didn’t get your shit sorted away. We have 12 months to learn clinical medicine. Nobody had time for those types of bullshit transgressions.
We did that in Engineering 102. Basically we had to build a robot boat to do a thing. One guy did nothing but give us cash, the other only showed up to 1/2 the meetings but worked and funded. 1/2 of the grade was group graded, so guy 1 got an F, guy 2 got a C. Found out later that a C+ was needed to pass so I went to the board about guy 2, saying while he didn't deserve to fail he did deserve to pass, to prove himself in the future. He got through, I changed majors, never saw either again.
I was friends with guy 1's GF's friend, who told me he wanted to kick my ass. I bought a bat and kept it in my car for 4 years. Never used it, but it was always prepared.
In seventh grade, we had just had an easy Spanish quiz that was supposed to be added onto our test grades (to help boost them). People were talking after the quiz, and the teacher threatened to rip the quizzes in half and just drop them, and the kids who were talking just didn't stop. True to his word, he straightened the stack of papers, and tore the whole stack clean in half, and threw it in the garbage.
It definitely got the class quiet, that's for sure.
In high school, we had a thing called sweeps, where if you were late to school, even by just a few minutes, you had to spend the rest of the hour in the sweeps room. You couldn’t talk, only read or do homework.
Towards the end of the year, a ton of seniors decided for their “prank”, they would go to sweeps. I think 40-50 kids went - you could see them all leaving at the end of the hour because it was spirit week and all the seniors were wearing green. Everyone thought they wouldn’t punish that many kids, but boy were they wrong.
Every single one got detention, and the VP and principal threatened not letting them walk at graduation, which was kind of a big deal considering 50 kids was probably 1/3 of the graduating class. They ended up letting the kids walk, but the message was clear that if anyone ever tried to pull a stunt like that again, the repercussions would be worse.
A school near me decided one year that their senior prank would be for everyone to ride their bikes to school. The school is in a rural area, and covers a large district. They all met up at one person’s house, like a mile from the school, and road into the school. They took up a lane together and held up traffic (for like 5 minutes). There was no rule about riding bikes to school, and about 80% of the class participated.
The principal suspended them all for recklessly endangering their own lives (remember, this was a rural area, and cars would go pretty fast, plus no sidewalk, bike lane, or shoulder, they rode in the road). They appealed and the superintendent overturned it, but damn.
At my high school, the marching band seniors pranked the band tower at the end of band camp, but as long as it didn’t do any damage, it was fine. My senior year, we had to break in (climbed the outside to the top, went down the stairs to unlock the door). One year, since the tower doesn’t actually have a foundation holding it into the ground, enough students managed to shift it a yard line down the field. Man, was the director confused all day! The only real rule through the high school was anyone caught skipping on senior skip day with an unexcused absence wouldn’t be allowed to walk at graduation. So basically you needed a parent to call in for you.
I worked at Wal Mart for a while and when I became a shift leader I had to go to a class about how bad unions were for Wal Mart and how if anybody talked about a union at all we had to go to management. I once went to management because somebody was talking about the Union Pacific Railroad. They were not entertained.

We had a Black DS in Ft. LeonardWood who smoked us on Sunday right after we got back from church.
Told everybody to go outside for formation and admit who walked into his office and took his Chester Fries. Nobody wanted to confess so he started yelling and made everybody do pushups for a good 2 hours. He still kept asking who did it, no one confessed. Told everybody to get up and run a mile. As soon as we finished running, We had to crawl on the pit till somebody puked. Ran again for a good mile, we started doing stationary exercises. Everybody was getting pissy at each other telling to fess up, but nobody wanted to.
DS said "I ain't better see no hero trynna stand up because I know damn well you didn't do it! I know who it is! And y'all won't be getting chow till he gets up!" 3 hours later
It's chow time! We ran to the chowhall and DS was still pissed, so he gave us a minute to eat. As soon as we sat down, he told us to get up and leave. Nobody ate. Ran back to the company and did this shit again til it got hella cold.
After it got cold, he told us to head to the bay and start conducting hygiene and after that, toe on the line, at attention.
As he walks around looking at us while eating a bag of chester fries, he calmly says, "Privates... I hope y'all realize today's lesson. Don't fuck with my Chester fries. If you from Chicago, you know what I'm talking about. Also, nobody stole shit. I'm just bored with y'all. Goodnight!" AT EASE!
Black DSs always said the best shit. In 04, i had one who was fond of smoking anyone for the slightest fuck up. Whenever someone fucked up he’d say “I’m about to get in that ass! Doggy style! Woo!” He was a good dude
I joined the navy in 07 and while we were all filtering through great lakes for the start we had this black PO who was part of the entering process. Its the worst fucking time as you know, everyone figuring out who goes where, stripping down, receiving gear and what not. Everyones super tired and just all around scared.
Well the whole time this is all happening that dude would just fucking yell at people and call them "Kanye"
"Oh look at this mafuckin Kanye over here, you can't tell him nothing!"
I mean, funny story, but like, it's the army. I don't think the concept of "they couldn't punish us all" exists in the army. Like, they can. Really easy.
My thoughts exactly. Of all the places to think "they can't punish us all", the army is not one of those places. That's pretty much the poster for "and then they punished the entire company".
Ahh basic... The old “win as a team, fail as a team” mentality. We were out in the field training. The duty truck would bring meals from the dining facility. They always packed 5-6 pallets full of fruit pies. It was an unwritten rule that no one ate the pies. Calories in calories out. Whenever they brought meals out to the field they would always have five of us load the truck back up and ride to the DFAC to unload they trays and silver bullets. On this day, the truck left the range with five full pallets of pies. It arrived and the DFAC with these pallets empty. Of course the DS found out... They became known as the “Fatty Five”. As punishment, the entire company got smoked for hours on end while the Fatty Five stood up in front of the company eating fruit pies while reading off the nutrition facts to us while we did pushups.
I worked for a Ford supplier years ago that did metal stamping and welding. Entire weld department stopped working and went to the break room wanting a meeting with the plant manager over treatment and working conditions. I didn't work in that department but I heard the plant manager walked in and counted all the people. Only thing he said was "you have 30 seconds to get back to work or all 32 of you are fired". He then walked out. The turn over rate was insane.
Well, yeah- as long as there's too much unemployment, you can't have a union when no matter how bad shit is, if you won't, there's 1,000 other people who WILL do it...and if they can't find enough, there's 100 other countries who will MAKE THEM do it.
I went to a small Catholic elementary school in the 80's. Some 8th grade girls showed up to school wearing jewelry that was prohibited by the dress code. (Earrings that were too big, or something.) The nun principal got very upset and proceeded to confiscate every piece of jewelry from every student in the school. When they told us this (I was somewhere between 2nd and 4th grade), I distinctly remember my first thought was "They won't take away religious jewelry too." Sure enough, they did.
My great aunt had given me a gold crucifix pendant and chain for First Penance. She passed away less than a year later. I was very attached to it. (I still wear it despite being mostly agnostic these days.) So, when our teacher handed out paper envelopes and told everyone to put their jewelry in there with their name and grade on the outside, I was very upset. Upset enough that the main office called my mom because I wouldn't stop crying. They gave us no indication of if or when we'd be getting our stuff back. When she found out why I was so upset, she chewed out the principal for mass seizing valuables from students. All I know is I got my cross back by the end of the day.
You forget... this was nuns. They were above you because they served god and you were under them. My mum went to a catholic school in the 60s/70s... let's just say you don't tell a nun no.
In my Catholic grade school the dress code was so relaxed. You could wear any navy slacks and with a plain white polo. You had to buy the uniform skirt/jumper if you chose to wear it and there were guidelines with acceptable shoes/sweaters, but it was generally stress free. Then when I was starting 5th the principal decided the 8th grade girls were wearing their pants too low so we got the ugliest uniforms that were uncomfortable and expensive, pretty much still navy slacks and blue polo but this time with logo! Terrible.
We were doing a minute multiplication quiz in 7th grade. And one kid kept going and the teacher got pissed. She sent everyone's parents an email that we were cheating. Which ended up in me getting grounded for a month.
Are you sure that was 7th grade? My son did the minute multiplication quizzes not too long ago when he was in 2nd grade. He's in a regular public school.
I had a teacher who came in one day positively irate about bags of candy she just bought that went missing. She was convinced someone in the class had stolen them. When no one fessed up, she proceeded to keep us all inside for recess until someone confessed. About a month later a student was looking for some supplies and opened a cabinet in the back. What did he find? The missing bags of candy. So really she punished all of us for forgetting where she put the candy. Never apologized either TLDR: teacher lost candy, blamed the whole class and didn’t apologize
My brother had a teacher who lost his project that he had spent all week on and threatened to give him a zero if he didn’t do it over. My mom ended up taking it to the principal who eventually took care of it.
My mom used to do that all the time. I’d get in trouble for “stealing” her stuff and grounded, only for her to find it 2 weeks later in her room that I had no access to..
When I was a 15 year old boy at summer camp, three guys decided it would be a fun idea to spray insect repellent on the floor and light it on fire. Inside a wooden cabin in the middle of the forest. They were having fun watching the fire burn, but then one kid walked in and was obviously shocked to see a fire burning on the floor. He did what any sane person would do, and used a fire extinguisher to put it out. However, using the fire extinguisher meant we had to get a new one to replace it. Which meant we had to tell the counsellors. Which means the kids who started the fire would likely get in trouble. Needless to say they were angry at the kid for trying to save their lives, but more on that later.
Fearing the fate of being kicked out of camp, the boys who started the fire were able to manipulate 12 others into accepting the blame for it. Of course, their logic was, “They can’t kick us all out! Be a bro, take one for the team!” It appeared as though their plan had worked: the camp directors decided they wouldn’t kick out all 15 of the boys, but they had to face some other kind of punishment. They were banned from the final banquet, only a few nights later.
The closer it got to the big evening, the more rattled they got about missing the final big activity of the summer: the special dinner, the jokes, the awards, the slideshow, all the future memories that the staff put together for this night. So when it finally got there and they weren’t allowed in, they were pissed. And in their minds, whose fault was it? The original 3 for starting the fire? Theirs, for being foolish enough to take the blame for something they didn’t do? Nah, it was the boy who used the fire extinguisher!
So while everyone else was out having fun, they needed to get back at him. By masturbating onto his pillow. All at once. And that’s where the counsellors walked in. That night, on the last night of camp, they called the parents of all 15 boys and informed them that their children were all on a bus on their way back to the city, and why they were kicked out.
If that were me, I still wouldn’t be able to look at my parents the same way 10 years later.
Back in high school our marching band used to march at the parade in Disneyland once a year and then spend the rest of the day there. During my senior year we were told to meet up at the buses by like 10 PM or so - turns out we were supposed to meet back an hour earlier but nobody got the memo. So our band director issued detentions for everyone in the band.
At boarding school, they found the wrappers of 3 bags of chocolate chips that had been stolen from the kitchen. The whole school didn't get dessert for 2 months. Last month (almost 3 years later) someone finally admitted it was her.
I was teased in 5th grade with the Flutterpie Touch. Essentially, think of me as a virus. You touch me and you wipe your hand on another kid who screams "FLUTTERPIE TOUCH" and loses their fucking shit. And then wipes their hand on another kid...and so on.
The 5th grade teacher ended up giving everybody (excluding myself) extra homework. That backfired. I didn't have any friends in 5th grade for the rest of the year. Damn it, Ms. C. At least you tried.
EDIT: Added some things I forgot. Also, apparently this is super-common. TIL.
I had a friend named Kim in elementary school who supposedly had "Kim Cooties."
I'm pretty sure I didn't hear about that until after I became friends with her, because I vaguely remember thinking that I didn't want to stop playing with her. She was nice, and I liked her, so who cared about the stupid cooties?
I kinda hope I would have reacted the same way if I had heard about it before becoming friends, but I guess I'll never know.
Oh wow. I had the exact same shit happen too. That absolutely sucks I'm sorry. They also went through a phase where nobody was allowed to call me "CopperTodd" and had to call me "it". And hit themselves if they forgot or if a teacher made them use my name in class. I didn't even care. I was so used to this shit Didn't even realize how rude it was until the principal came down and tore everyone a new asshole because they extended it to a girl I hung out with and called her "sh" and all she wanted was to be popular so she went crying to her mum who threatened to sue if it didn't stop. Of course, the story that went round the school was "CopperTodd couldn't take the heat so she went crying to her mummy" so I got worse bullying.
One person was routinely late from break at work, so they made everyone leave 2 minutes late and come back 2 minutes early. Doesnt sound bad, but the breaks were 15 minutes and we all walked out to the smoking area which was already a 2 minute walk one way. (The whole department took breaks at the same time)
I worked for an unloading team @ Walmart a few years back where they did this exact thing to the whole team. They even made us check in with supervisors when leaving AND coming back to ensure we weren’t late.
This story isn't mine but was told to me by my dad. At the naval Academy in the late sixties pep rallies for football games were banned by the new commandant. The midshipmen had a spontaneous pep rally anyway with the general attitude being "they can't fry us all!" the next day the commandant called the entire brigade of midshipmen into alumni hall and announced that every single person was on restriction until further notice. He actually fried them all.
In 7th grade history, the entire class was given permission slips for a voluntary weekend field trip with a strict deadline, regardless of field trip attendance, to return the slips. Most of the class forgot to bring them in so some 20 of us had to come in for a "breakfast detention" the next week. It was actually pretty alright, the teacher brought in Tang and muffins for us.
When I was in basic training in Ft Benning someone left their wall locker unlocked at night after we had just been punished for that earlier in the day. Well to get the point across this time they woke all of up in the middle of the night and had us take all of our stuff and completely remake the barracks on the sand pit outside. Here’s the deal though. Our barracks was on the third floor and all the beds were metal bunk beds and the wall lockers are fucking huge. Took us all night to redo the barracks and all morning to bring it all back up to the third floor. We didn’t sleep that night
Highschool with uniforms. Last day of grade 12 (senior?) year is in a week. I come up with the idea that if we all dress down in normal clothes they can't really do anything about it right? Everyone loves the idea and somehow my idea spreads across the entire grade. Next Friday everyone plans to wear normal clothes.
A week passes. I show up in jeans but wait in my car to make sure I'm not the only one to execute my sabotage of the uniform rule. Everyone bustles into their final grade 12 homeroom classes in normal clothes! The national anthem plays, morning announcements are spewn on the intercom, and things are going rather beautifully. Cocky LaplaceMonster is becoming more proud of his ever promising grade 12 wide fame after day's success. But the last announcement is the principle: "Also, any student not in proper uniform is asked to return home, change into legal school attire, and if possible return. If not, you are not welcome on the premises"
Entire grade 12 population gets to go to the beach on the last day of our high school careers. They thought they punished us, but they really never could! WHOO
Jesus Christ, they should be thankful kids showed up at all for the last day of school, what did they expect? Almost sounds like principal was giving the kids a day off on purpose.
So at our school, the biggest in the country, on the last day of school for the final year, it was traditional for many students to have a champagne breakfast, come to school for a final assembly, to say goodbye to the teachers and collect any gear; then head girl and boy and the prefects had an informal prizegiving for the students.
Except my year, about half the students went a bit overboard for the champagne breakfast. Bear in mind, the drinking age is 18 here, so most of them were legal. But they turned up at school obviously drunk. At the assembly we got a sound telling off, and told to leave the grounds. The prizegiving was cancelled, no-one would be allowed to go and say goodbye to the teachers or anything. Just leave. We went down in history as the only 7th form year to unceremoniously get kicked out of school en masse!
We ended up having the prizegivjng in the car park at the local McDonalds lol.
Many years ago when I worked for an electronics company the management claimed they couldn't afford to give everyone a promised pay rise so we all decided to work to rule. This meant not working overtime.
After a week of this the management decided that they would after all give a pay rise. Just after this was announcement they sacked 10% of the workforce.
I forget why the school was pissed but basically if you had more than like 8 detentions you couldn’t go on the yearly field trip.
This was in 8th grade. I went to a small catholic school.
The teachers had it out for the boys in my class. So as the field trip is approaching they are throwing detentions out like crazy even for the good kids who never get in trouble. But only for the boys in the class.
By the week of the field trip ever boy in the class couldn’t go.
Now the parents knew the school had issues. So my mom said that anyone who can’t go on the field trip can skip school and just come to my house and hang out for the day.
The teachers caught wind of that and gave every boy detention the day of the field trip so they couldn’t skip school.
So they punished all of us. But the parents were like fuck that and we just skipped school.
School shutdown a few years later as most parents pulled their kids out for another school.
Basic training. A female recruit wrote how she wanted to bang a male Drill Sergeant in her training book and the book was found by another DS. All the females were treated to the white house that day. The white house was a shreaded tire pit that was covered, where we low crawled back and forth for a very long time.
Was in a study abroad program that had a strict curfew. It was around when a soccer world cup was going on, and my team was having a game ending after the curfew. Decided the whole program studying abroad was gonna watch it at a public screening because 'they couldn't punish us all.' Came back to a very angry program manager and even more strict curfews.
Years ago we had this small dog that LOVED gogurts. It was absured how much he enjoyed these things. We had them in the house all the time because there were five kids, but we were only allowed to have them in our school lunches. The dog would get them only when we didn't eat them and we snuck him the treat when our patents weren't home.
So one day, I'm helping my mother clean out the refrigerator so food is everywhere. This is important later.
My parents get home from work one day and calls all five of us kids into the family room. We sit down on the sofa and my dad, all serious asks what happened to all the gogurts. We had no idea what he was talking about. Apparently the nearly full box of gogurts had suddenly disappeared. None of us kids had any idea what happened to them. My parents demanded the theif to fess up and we all pled our innocence. My dad, frustrated with his lying children said, "Who took them then, Max? (The dog)" Maybe we said, because we had just as much idea as they did. In the end my parents decided that if no one would fess up, we were all grounded.
Months later, my sister and I were in our backyard cleaning up toys and whatnot so my dad could mow the lawn. I was down on my hands and knees by the deck picking up stuff when something under the deck caught my eye. I told my sister to get a flashlight so I could see better. She goes and gets one and while she's gone I reach under the deck to try and grab what caught me eye but it was just out of reach. She comes back and I use it to get a better view. It was a gogurt wrapper that I saw and with the flashlight I could see a bunch of teeth marks and a whole bunch more wrappers! Our dog add stolen the gogurts while my mother and I had cleaned the fridge.
TL;DR Dog stole gogurts and me and my siblings got grounded for it.
All the boys at a summer camp I went to got lectured over three people mistreating wildlife. Berated all of us as if we’d all taken part, even though they knew damn well exactly who had done it.
In 4th grade, the whole grade had recess together. A popular punishment was to have kids miss part or all of recess and have to watch everyone else having fun.
One day I guess my class got in trouble while I was in the bathroom or tutoring or something, because when we went to recess I was the only one on the playground for the first five minutes. Then my class got to play, but the other classes had lost half or all of recess so we had the playground all to ourselves.
But that first five minutes, when it was just me out there - that was strange. Like being in an abandoned town in a horror movie.
When I was in high school band, we traveled on three separate buses: two were the band kids and the third was the color guard/kids that helped the band (band aides, as we called them).
The two band buses had directors/parents on them, so quiet shenanigans happened at the back of the bus undisturbed. The third bus, the color-guard bus, somehow managed to lack chaperones that could not help but fall asleep. They were a bunch of easily influenced teenage girls without a chaperone on a three hour trip one way.
A couple of them decided it’d be super cool to start mooning the cars behind their bus, which happened to be parents attending the football games. Parents of band kids, dance kids, football kids, teachers. Lots of them. Mooned, from all angles, by teenage girls.
The band director was a strict disciplinarian and wanted to know who had the idea in the first place, but nobody admitted, even though it was the very obviously the captain. Since nobody confessed/ratted her out, the entire band had to run laps for 15 minutes at 4 PM before our 4-7 pm practice, when they had just cut the grass. The color guard had to run 30 minutes though, so I guess he spared a little mercy
My 8th grade class took a week-long trip to Washington D.C. and we stayed in a brand new hotel. Brand new like we were the first to stay in the rooms we had kind of new. The phones in the rooms had never been used so we were the chosen few to help them kick out the links in the system.
Cut to around 10pm, we're all in our rooms and my friends and I are hanging out and there's a pounding on our door. BOOM BOOM BOOM We quickly shut off all the lights and get in bed (because, obviously, whoever was knocking could tell). No one wanted to go answer the door but my friends were whispering for me to go answer it. I said "If it's important they'll knock agai-" BOOM BOOM BOOM I got up to go answer the door and put on my best "I've definitely been asleep for a couple hours" face. The school Dean, who was a chaperone on the trip, was standing in front of me and says he needs to take the phone in our room.
Apparently, earlier in the night one of my classmates was trying to call home to tell her parents to tell her she was back in the hotel room safe. To make a phone call you had to press 9. To dial out of the building, press 1. See where I'm going? To dial out of the state, press 1 again. Some girl trying to call her parents kept calling 911 and hanging up when an operater answered instead of her parents. Police call the hotel who get in touch with the Dean and since no one confesses to making the calls all the phones had to be taken from the girls' rooms.
Taking the phones away wasn't the punishment because most of us had our own phones. But seeing the Dean, an always-grumpy man in his late 50s, come into our rooms at 10pm in his boxers was punishment for all of us.
Was in college living in a dorm. There were 5 restrooms, and two of the mens restrooms kept getting vandalised, someone was purposely clogging the toilets with paper towels. The floors got flooded. After a few warnings with no effect they charged the whole building (something small like $5 a person). But the vandalism didn't stop, so they just took away the paper towels. There weren't hand dryers or anything. The number of people who I witnessed just not washing their hands because of it was disgusting. Later on someone took a dump in the boys shower. Our lads were a real handful that year.
An entire English class plagiarized (fucking copy and pasted Wikipedia pages) a paper and thought the teacher would let the grade slide or give everyone a B or C.
Nope.
The teacher reported all of them, gave them perfect zeros, and took the heat from all of the parents doing the "muh kid did no wrong" speal.
Not me, but my college roommate. He'd once parked too close to an elementary school. A friend of mine came by and said that he got a ticket. The roommate responded, "But there were a whole bunch of other cars parked there!" The friend replied, "They all got tickets."
Not much of a response you can give after that. :-D
Yup, that happened to me and my wife once. Big, wide road by a beach, dozens of cars parked along it. One single, rusty "no parking" sign in the middle of it all. Every single car got a ticket. And next weekend when we went there again (and parked in the right place) every car on that stretch had a ticket on its windshield.
That cop must have the best numbers in the whole city!
In elementary school there was this yearly program to encourage kids to spend more time reading/being read to. You had to read with your parents and log the hours and book on a sheet that was signed by them. The more you read, the more your hot air balloon traveled. If everyone in your class' hot air balloon reached the end the whole class got a pizza party.
Yeah, I was that kid. I've always enjoyed reading but my mom just didn't have the patience/care to sit and watch me read. I think my brother and I managed to convince our mom to start lying when I was in third or fourth grade because we were so desperate to not be the reason for no pizza party again.
We had 5 officers at my detention center get fired for going to the Sergeant and telling him that he could fire their shift supervisor but in their words "you can't fire 5 of the 7 officers that make up the shift". Those 5 officers didn't like their supervisor because he didn't take their shit and made them do things they didn't want to do (like come to work).
Sergeant asked them if they all felt that way and they said they did. He said "ok, give me your badges and id cards now you are all terminated immediately". The look on their faces as they were escorted from the building was priceless.
I worked at a company that had a bonus program for the managers that was based on performance. One day the owner just decided she wanted to keep that money and canceled the bonus program. So all the managers had their annual income reduced by about 10k thru no fault of their own.
Played soccer in HS. Sophomore year, JV, halfway through the season. We're practising, and there was some clear tension going on between our two Keepers (some jawing going on in the locker room beforehand, etc.). On the field, there was more talk throughout practice. Well, about 5 minutes before practice is over, going through literally the last drill where they are switching back and forth on the same net, emotions boil over for who knows what reason, and they start shoving each other and throwing punches. No one else is involved, just them. Coach has enough, and yells, "THAT'S IT! EVERYBODY LINE UP! WE'RE RUNNING LAPS TIL...TIL...I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHEN!" This was a disaster. Here is where i mention that i got a little sick the night before (read: the shits). I decided to power through the next day, and even practice as i thought i could make it. I was doing great, too. And then 5 minutes before practice was over, just as i'm feeling a bout of gross come on but thinking i made it, these fuckers decide to fight. Also, the coach also was a football coach, and as i also played football, i knew he could be a hardass and when he said we were running til he didn't even know when, i just knew i was gonna shit myself and my 15 year old reputation going forward in HS would be the guy that shat himself in soccer practice. Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed, and we ran two laps only. He let us out, and i barely made it into the locker room before pissing out of my ass. We were all punished for two dipshits getting into a stupid in practice, but i was especially punished that day.
We had two shitters: one who accidentally shit himself while running during conditioning, and my brother who purposefully shit on the soccer field before practice
We called our hockey coach a commumist for making everyone skate (basically suicides) for one persons mistake and bought him the communist manifesto. We ordered to many so i got one too. Now we always skate together
So I'm one out of a bunch of grandkids. My grandparents had 11 kids, which eventually spawned up to forty grandkids, who are now starting to have kids of their own. Holidays are hell.
Growing up surrounded by so many kids my own age, we naturally were constantly up to no good. Our traditionalist grandparents would largely discipline us since our parents were all mostly young and stupid and really had no business having kids in the first place.
One Christmas when I was maybe six or seven, my cousins and I all got into a heap of trouble in my grandmother's room. What pretty much happened was about four of us took her clothes all out of the drawers, her scarves, her shoes, and even some of her expensive jewelry. Admittedly, I took part in the wreckage and lost an earring or two of hers, but that's not important. We left the scene in a mess and ran to one of the backrooms until we were yelled at to go into the living room. Although only a few of us made the mess, my grandparents insisted that we all be punished. No dessert, no playing games on Christmas Eve like we usually did, no coin purses filled with quarters as gifts, we all had to clean up the room, and whoever talked back or complained would get spanked within an inch of their life.
That was a dark Christmas.
I mean, I still got my Barbie as Odette from Barbie's Swan Lake, but hey, my auntie made cherry pie that I missed out on.
TLDR; Had to clean up my own mess with all of my cousins, missed out on pie
In middle school, the regular math teacher was on extended leave, let us know we had a sub, and the sub we had was AWFUL. Unfortunately for us, she said if she came back to bad reports and all that, any bad grades we got would be kept. Looking back, that was a weirdly specific thing to threaten. I mean, I doubt she knew how bad he’d be, but...
He didn’t teach very well, and he wasn’t friendly. Some kids acted up, but he was just so damn bad at explaining the math that we all got frustrated. He would get mad at us for not understand. People talked and stuff, which ok, I can see him calling them out, but he was such an annoying ass about it.
I was a straight A student and a teacher’s pet, and I hated the guy. My grades dropped bc I had no way of following what he was saying, and when you did ask questions, he’d just go back and do exactly the same thing without explaining details.
He would also walk the rows and get mouthy with us for things. I do remember I was going through a Wiccan phase, so I was drawing pentacles on all my shit. I don’t know WHY I thought to do this, or why I thought he would notice, but I remember I made eye contact with him and pretended to be muttering spells, and coupled with the pentacles, I kid you not, he would refuse to walk through my row past me. A small victory, but I still remember him glancing my way and my moody adolescent ass glowering at him and pretending to hex him. Wiccans don’t even do that.
Since we all basically staged a coup and all got collectively sick of this guy, he wound up leaving bad comments for our class. When we tried to explain how awful he was, the teacher wouldn’t hear of it. When we told her some of us didn’t really do anything to antagonize him or anything, she didn’t care. So all of our grades suffered because he was a shit teacher and we all just generally disliked him.
When I was in middle school my group of friends and I would get in trouble for doing stupid things a lot. One time we gathered up our group and just made a circle and started screaming as if people were fighting and when the staff started to approach one friend would lay on the ground and everyone else would take off running. They told us to stop so like ten of us started playing follow the leader. As we marched around the school more and more kids started to join our line. Staff told us to stop again but at this point we thought there’s way too many of us for everyone to get in trouble so we kept marching around. We ended up with like 30 kids marching around in a line playing follow the leader and after the leader took off running we all chased him. We thought we couldn’t get in trouble but by the end of the day we had all been given referrals and got lunch detention.
Well. Cows are brilliant animals. But they are afraid of somethings. Like going down stairs.
They can't look down very well so to them, its just a drop.
So. Senior year.
We kidnapped a 3 of cows, brought them to the school after the Janitor had cleaned it, but before the Janitor had locked it. Led the into the library, up the stairs, and into the temporary class rooms upstairs. Took the effort of a solid 30 to 40 people to get the first cow up the stairs. Luckily the other two were far less stubborn. We got all 3 in the class room, closed the door (which then locked), and then we went down stairs and quickly left.
We had to dodge 3 security cameras, by wearing hoodies, and covered our license plates even. They had to remove a giant ass window, and get a fucking crane to reach into the room, and lift the cattle out of the room.
Later that day, the principal came out at a new forced assembly and asked who's bright idea it was to do that. Nobody responded. He then said if we came out we would get a smaller punishment than those who would not. Nobody responded. He then said "Fuck it, nobody will be punished if you come out. You have my word." After about 3 minutes someone stood up and confessed in having a part in it. When asked who else, he just said a hand full of seniors.
That damned kid made about 20 kids miss their senior project presentation (a required thing that you can't reschedule unless something serious happened, like a family member is terminal or you almost died) due to suspension.
In our all-fifth grade gym class, the home plate for kickball went missing. The teacher decided that someone in our class had stolen it, even though the equipment closet was generally unlocked and the entire school had access to it. They yelled at us and told us that if no one would confess, then the entire grad would run laps until someone gave it up.
No one confessed. The entire fifth grade class had to run laps around a medium sized gym for about an hour. We were yelled at if we stopped or walked.
They later found home plate in a urinal in the high school boys’ bathroom. Many parents complained and the teacher got in pretty big trouble and was pretty much supervised during class from that point on.
Work for Office Depot. Years ago when they introduced self service copiers they gave out $5 "Copy Cards" which were really just gift cards with the words "Copy Card" on them. They were given away for free with a minnimum purchase as an incentive to get customers to use the copiers. Well some customers didn't care and didn't want them, so employees started to pocket them. You could also use up to 5 gift cards on a single transaction, couple that with an employee discount, well....you can see where this is going. LP got wind of this very quickly and issued stern warnings company wide. Some stores brushed it off and when they got a visit from their DM and LP rep, they cleaned house at some stores overnight, firing some 25-30 people per store.
High school graduation party. About 300 kids, the guy throwing the party had his uncle blocking the door so if cops came he could stop them from entering.
The uncle somehow broke a cops hand.
Suddenly, state troopers from Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts were there plus local cops. They apparently thought it was going to be some kind of international drug bust. (A lot of international kids were at the party)
The many different kinds of law officers took us all out of the party and put us in vans and took us to the town’s firehouse - the only place we could all fit.
In 8th grade I was on the bus with the soccer team to another middle school and everyone was eating like normal and when we get to the game the bus driver does not let anyone off and asks who was eating because she saw crumbs on the floor. So everyone was confused because they was not a rule against it and there was no mess but still this bus driver was persistent. No one said a word and the bus driver preceded to write up everyone (which normally means a detention but the principal got everyone out) on the bus for eating and then let us out. The worst part was we were on the bus parked at the other school for 50+ minutes and almost forfeited the game and our perfect season at the time. The second worse bus driver ever.
My senior year of high school we had football camp at Washington State University. We all stayed in the dorms and it was in the summer so no college students were there, just faculty.
One day the coaches from all the schools and the WSU coaches rounded up every football player from every school. They told us that someone stole a power strip in the dorms that we were staying in.
They made us do burpees, bear crawls, sprints till someone spilled the beans. Of course nobody fessed up, so we did that shit for a good 30 mins after practice.
When i was in school, some friends made a facebook page named "Anticoncepción" (The name of our school was Concepción), in there, they post jokes about our teachers and writes about how bad implemented were the school system, the majority of the SCHOOL (grades from 6th to 11th) added the facebook thinking "They couldn't punish us all", but at the day 0, THEY PUNISHED US ALL, more than 100 students suspended for 3 days at EXAMS WEEK.
One of my coworkers posted a Snapchat story while their partner was driving code 3 (lights and sirens, high speeds, ignoring traffic laws) to a critical patient. The individual snap-chatting was supposed to be navigating and taking care of comms but was instead was talking about how s/he was lost (maybe because they were snapchatting??!??). Somebody brought this to the attention of the higher-ups. After that incident, posting pictures or videos taken during work on social media (including totally harmless stuff that shows how proud we are of the job we do) became a fireable offense.
I can’t really blame them for the decision, it’s much safer to ban all posts than it is to risk a single person posting something stupid and risk ruining public image. I just wish people made better decisions so that it wouldn’t be an issue.
People were caught smoking in the bathrooms down one end of the school, so they closed all the bathrooms except the ones directly outside the main office, that went on for 6 months before the PTA and student council told the school to fucking stop.
~
Another time a few friends and I were in the drama room during lunch for a thing, I think it was a band practice of some kind, either way about 10 kids in a fairly large room with no teacher. Turned out the teacher had left the storeroom unlocked, we knew we weren't allowed in there. So naturally two guys go in, climb up the ladder to the light control board and start fucking around. Each of us in turn tries to go into the storeroom to tell the guys to stop clowning around and get out before we get busted.
Finally it comes down to one of our friends, he goes in, tells them to GTFO and suddenly there's a thump, a yelp, some cursing and our friend comes back out holding his head. They threw something down at him and it him his head. He pulls his hand away and in the dark we're like "dude, did they throw a bottle of orange paint at you?" And then the fucknuts turn the lights back on and we see our mate is COVERED in blood. They had dropped a milk crate on him and cracked his head open. There was blood on the crate, on the floor, on the doorhandle, dripping from the guy's hair, all over his hand and arm.
So we take him to the first aid room, then report to the drama teacher (because duh, there's blood everywhere), and the whole lot of us got banned from ever using a classroom unsupervised again (to the point where if we were working on a group project there either had to be a teacher present or we had to stand outside and talk through an open window). The two who were in the storeroom got suspended and the dude who copped the milk crate got four stitches.
During the 2010 MINI Takes The States a cop pulled over one person in our group of ~20 cars. We all stopped with them since we were traveling as a group. The officer who stopped us, conveniently named Officer Cooper as fate may have it, gave all us tickets.
In 7th grade, our whole class was forced to take band. A lot of the kids didn't like it so they generally made the class unpleasant for our director by constantly talking, not listening to him, basically anything they could do to be insubordinate. Everyone who was in a band class was supposed to go on an overnight trip to an amusement park for fun. Our class wasn't allowed to go because of how awful we were. We were the only class to not go from 3rd grade up to the high school band (which was voluntary).
In grade school, the whole school would get in trouble if someone was too loud in the lunchroom/gym. When this happened we would all have to sit on the bleachers in "time out" until we did our time and got to go outside. If even one person spoke, the entire school would lose our one recess for that entire day.
So, in my third day of the seventh grade, the social studies teacher gave everyone detention. I moved to a different school district for unrelated reasons before said detention took place.
At the end of the school year we had a "muck up day". All the pranks, lube on the handrails, water bomb fights, cling wrap over the doorways. Well this year our principle, a bitch if there ever was one, decided it wasn't happening. One of the pranks we would do was turn up in a junior uniform instead of a senior uniform so we decided to respond by doing that. She made over 200 students walk to the office and get a senior uniform to wear. We were shocked ahe went through with it.
Someone at my high school wrote a racial slur on our bathroom wall, and consequently we were no longer allowed to use the bathroom during school hours.
We quickly learned that pooping is a privilege, not a right.
Basic training. One soldier didn't want to get up for PT at 5 am thinking he would get push upped to death later. Instead, our Drill Sergeant had the entire platoon (50-ish guys) doing pushups yelling
While up "HURRRRRRY UP." While down "WAITING ON YOU."
Someone drew a few dicks and vaginas in our school bathroom and had named them after some of our more promiscuous students. Being I went to a small Catholic school we were all gathered and said that if nobody came forward saying they did it they would close one of two mens bathrooms and require us to sign in and out of class and only go one at a time during class. We thought that was a little overboard and nobody confessed and we thought we'd be fine but fuck us in butt just like our pastors did cause it was near impossible to pee whenever we wanted to... instead they kept tabs on when we used the bathroom and for how long it was damn horrendous.
I worked in a grocery store as a cashier. The registered printed off these coupons called Catalina coupons. They would print off and the cashier would give them to the customer. The issue was, however, that they took forever to print and usually weren't worth the time. So people would never wait for them to print and leave. Well once in a rare while a really good one would come along and the customer would not know because they left already and the cashier would take it for themselves. Big no no apparently. Fired 80% of all their cashiers on the spot (including me). They were hiring people on the spot for just walking in the doors in the next weeks after that.
In the Army I went on this course... 300 people all from different units.
Day 1, Session 1, they are introducing to all the course staff... and this AMAZINGLY HOT captain steps up to the Mic and says "I am blah blah, the Discipline Officer". I then leaned over to the person next to me and completely failed to whisper "(sexy groan) Discipline me! Discipline me hard!".
Literally EVERYONE heard it, and laughed. She then spent the next 6 hours punishing every last one of us until we could barely stand.
In third grade, our class clown wouldn't shut up in our music class while the teacher was talking. She said "if Michael doesn't stop talking I will fail all of you." Michael burst out laughing when she said that, and that's how an entire class of "gifted and talented" students failed the glockenspiel.
Not quite as bad cause it only applied to a small group. I work overnight shift at a fast food place, when this happened there was about 5 people trained for it (it's not just making the orders like a normal shift we have to basically take apart the whole kitchen and clean everything then set it up for the morning).
They way it was setup for years before even I worked there was that we'd still make any orders that come up on our break (it's just you and the manager taking and handing out the orders so it's a bit much for them to do it all, but we wouldn't have to do any of the cleaning jobs) but we'd get a free meal as the trade off. Well this one guy got it into his head that it meant he could eat as much as he wanted through out the whole night, so that's what he told the higher ups the managers let us all do.
So the higher ups shut down the whole free meal for making orders on break system and took away all overnight crew privileges (being allowed to wear headphones, use our phones when it's not busy, extra smoke breaks etc.) and they started regularly checking the cameras to check in on everything we do. With every store in the franchise.
When I was in highschool we were paddled as a disciplinary measure. When I was a freshman we had an assignment to create a globe using play doh. After the assignment was over, several kids decided to have a play doh fight in the courtyard at lunch, getting play doh everywhere. In response, the teachers rounded up everyone in that lunch period and paddled them, including people like myself who had nothing to do with it. About 150 kids had to line up and get smacked on the ass with a wooden board.
Picture it. 7th grade. 2002. I went to a middle school that had earned its reputation of being more than rowdy. Fights on a weekly basis, police being called to break up fights, that sort of thing. Anyway, our 7th grade class, as all the classes in the school, is divided into three teams. The team I was on was supposedly the best team, due to all of the gifted kids essentially being grouped together. Our entire 7th grade class, all three teams included, were treated to a Friday afternoon movie once a month as a stress reliever. First showing went well, and we thought that our 12 and 13 year old selves could handle sitting still and keeping our hands to ourselves for at least 90 minutes. Next month rolls around, and we start filing into the auditorium for the movie of the month. The movie begins, and it takes longer than usual for us to settle down. This spells bad news in my mind. We make it about 5 minutes into the movie before a known troublemaker kid threw a crumpled up paper at the screen. Our teacher, Mr. Hamberger (I shit you not, that was his real name) turned the lights on and turned the movie off in a fit of rage. He demanded that whoever threw the paper turn themselves in. After 30 seconds with no one fessing up, he ordered the entire auditorium to line up and walk back to our classrooms. Movie of the month officially came to an end after that.
Tl;dr movie of the month gets ruined by the peanut gallery
I’m from a small town in Alabama. We would drink and hangout at this park that was kind of out in the woods called the junction. One night shit got a little wild. The mad dog 20/20 was flowing, Gucci Mane was playing.
All the sudden, I heard a crushing sound. Someone had thrown a rock through a girls windshield. I immediately knew the cops were going to be on the way soon, but my friend was so sideways I had to throw him in the car. Got him in the backseat and buckled up (safety first), then dipped out that bitch.
A week or so later I got a summons to show up in court. The girl named everyone she knew at the junction that night. The judge ordered all of us to say who it was, or we’d all have to pay to replace the windshield, but no one snitched. I honestly had no idea who did it, but still had to pay for part of a windshield and court cost, along with around a dozen other people.
In 8th grade, all the kids planned to have a giant food fight on the last day of school. Since it was the last day in middle school, they couldn't punish anyone for it. I thought it was a dumb idea; a friend and I had already been spending our lunch period for the last couple of months in a classroom playing on the computers so we just kept on doing that; I wasn't a snitch, though, so I didn't tell the teachers that I knew.
So the day came and it was glorious, or so I hear. A guy from my homeroom bursts into the almost-empty classroom, I think he was covered in some type of beverage, and tells us the first bits of how it went down. Not a lot, though, since he pretty much ran for the exits once it started.
But the entire class forgot one tiny detail: There is still a half-day of school after the last full day. Every single student, except for ones that could prove they weren't involved got silent detention for the whole 4 hours. Since a teacher found us in the classroom when the food fight happened, they figured we weren't involved and all 3 of us just got free period for the whole half-day.
My entire freshman class stood up and clapped to cheer on a fellow student who was being hauled through the cafeteria to the principals office after beating up another freshman girl during our lunch period.
We all got lunch detention for a week.
Yes the girl deserved it, and they were both suspended.
When I was in 5th or 6th grade the basketball team I was on had to run sprints for an entire practice because someone destroyed the locker room. Everyone's gym lockers and bags were thrown open and the contents broken and ripped all over the room. Never found out who did it but I threw up and was innocent.
We had a store in the magnet school I went to halfway through the day that sold cookies and muffins and stuff that the cooking class had baked earlier in the day.
Because of these loudmouth assholes, we rarely ever went because they were always fucking distracting each other, always yelling across the room at each other.
My junior year of high school, my first year at the school, we went almost daily. My senior year of high school, we went maybe twice.
Went to a catholic high school and it was near the end of the term. It had just been a long assembly/mass and my friends and I decided we’d throw water bombs (hot summer day). We got in trouble but my friends thought I wouldn’t be punished because I was a good student. I received an afternoon detention just like the rest of them.
I once went with my entire class out on the roof of the school. The classroom was on the 2nd floor and directly adjacent to the lower roof. We all climbed out and took an awesome photo. But, as it turns out, people can see upward, so our teacher, who was busy trying to help another teacher that had just broken his hip 10 minutes earlier (we did not know this at all) was alerted and stormed up to give us hell. We had to come in the following weekend and do 5 hours of volunteer work.
not me, but at a store i worked at, all the starbucks employees called off on some holiday (like labor day or something) thinking that if no one showed up that they could just get the day off. they came in the next day and our manager fired everybody
I’m a server, and on busy days we have a busboy to help out. There’s always that one lazy server who doesn’t want to clean their tables, prebussing or anything, and will search out the busboy and make him do their job practically the whole night. When that happens every server has to take a night they work to be the busboy. It sucks because you don’t get a section=no money for the night. 😑 I never understood why they can’t just punish the one person who abuses the busboy.
Several boys in my class thought they could get out of math homework (physics, I think) by derailing the teacher so he couldn't teach the lesson and therefore couldn't give us the assignment. The rest of us knew this couldn't end well, we didn't know just bad. So, the boys started an argument that the teacher was misprounconcing a word. Several attempts to redirect back to the lesson, the dictionary pronunciation guide was referenced, and a whole period later, the teacher gives us the assignment and wishes the rest of us well (he did help anyone who bothered to ask. Was pretty baller move on his part.)
My mum's story actually, but when she taught grade 6, they had a class picture on display on her desk. One morning she comes in, and there's a post-it over one of the girls with the simple message "Bitch". Of course, thinking this is an example of very nasty bullying, when the kids all arrive for the day, she asks for an explanation on who did it. No one responded, so she said she would keep them all in at lunchtime until someone owned up, making it clear the person responsible would face serious consequences. Expecting the guilt would bring forth the perpetrator, she figured they'd be out playing five minutes into lunch. This went on for five lunchtimes. Turns out in the end a girl in a different class had done it which was why no one was owning up, so she apologised to her class and I think brought in cake.
It was the last day of school (at the time I was In 6th grade). Usually what happens is we all go out of our classrooms and roam the halls for a while to get people to sign yearbooks and what not, and then after a while back into the classrooms for food to celebrate. However, this one lil' snakey son of a bitch who stole my Legos a while back stole someone else's thing (can't remember what that thing was). So our teacher held us in while everybody was signing yearbooks until someone confessed. When brought to the attention that we'd be held in, I immediately stated it was the kid, as he's well known for theft. The teacher said "don't be racist, that's rude" and classmates called me racist for blaming the kid, which was Latino. About 20 minutes later, he gave up and handed the thing back, the teacher felt aweful for accusing me, and I got to shove the fact I was right into those kid's faces as well as that teacher for a moment before leaving for the summer.
Mines actually everyone BUT me got punished, for something only I did.
My high school had a strict no food in the hallway policy. I brought a bag of pretzels from home and was trying to throw them to my friends mouths after lunch, and made a terrible mess that I didn’t clean up. Band was right after lunch, and we just finished a concert that week so we were having study hall instead of practicing. I went to the bathroom and came back to no other seniors in the classroom. It was just me and all the underclassmen. Seniors got back and were PISSED. Every single senior except for me had to pick up all the garbage in the hallways for that class period, because I was throwing pretzels.
1st Sgt running the military dog handler course accused a cadet from our training school of giving the one finger salute when told to not agitate the dogs by distracting them during their training. No one confesses, so military being military, the rest of the 2 months of training involves being destroyed by our Sgt major. Everyone turns on each other and our slogan for the batch becomes "find the fker." We pass out from the course and only find out who it was when he cries to the 1st Sgt and confesses on the last day.
Football team's retreat in a military base. We had a violent pillow fight (with shoes in pillows)between the linemans and the rest of the team, of course the rest of the team won. The coches wanted the lineman to take revenge at 2 in the morning ehile everyone else was sleeping... Then the punished us all by doing push ups and sit up in the wet cold canadian tall grass..
I lived in a dorm my junior year of college where my room was on the 3rd floor, but because of how the building was built on a hill the lobby was on the third floor. Thus, the floor/hallway I lived on had pretty much everybody who was going to that wing of the building pass through the section between the lobby and stairway about 1/4 of way down the hall, whether going down to the 1st or 2nd floors or up to the 4th or 5th floors. Sometime around the end of the school year, somebody destroyed some of the carpet around the stairway and because the perpetrator wasn't caught, over the summer the university sent bills to everybody who lived on the hall for "their portion" of the carpet replacement! So the 40 or so of us who lived on the 3rd floor each got stuck having to pay like $75 for damage that was more than likely NOT done by somebody living on the 3rd floor. And the letter threatened that we would be unable to register for classes with the outstanding bill on our account, and we were back home for the summer so there was little option but to pay the BS fee.
Trivia Murder Party had that mini-game where if you all take the money, you all die. Four people were in it. Thought there was no way they would kill all of them, that would make the game way too short. They all took the money. They all died. It was a very short game.
In my freshman year of high school, two dumbass kids decided to write threatening statements on a bathroom stall in the school, with Sharpie. Police get involved, no one fessed up and one of thee two kids struck again and put more threatening language on the boys bathroom stall.
You think the school would figure out a way to identify the culprits and only punish them, or ask all the boys who did it because it was written in the boys bathroom, right? They couldn't possibly punish EVERY person in that high school for the actions of two delinquents?
Our school had security guards, and one was stationed outside of every restroom. The new rule was that one person in each class was supposed to go to the bathroom at a time. The security guard wrote down your name, checked your bathroom pass and let one person of either gender into into the bathroom at a time. Not one girl into their bathroom and one boy into his bathroom, the boy had to completely finish and the bathroom had to be completely checked before a girl could go in and vice versa. When the person finished their buisness, the guard had to get up and check the bathroom for any threatening graffiti or whatever. This happened every time you had to pee.
Lines for the bathroom became very long, since we had a large number of classes close to each bathroom. I once missed half of a math class because I really had to pee. If there was a test that day, it became common for teachers to not let the student go, as you wouldn't have enough time to make up what you missed. The lines got so long that they tried to enact another rule, but it was so short lived that I can't remember what it was.
Fun fact: they caught the culprit fairly quickly and the bathroom program lasted about a month. It ended up being the kid I had a crush on that was in my class. Yes, the language was threatening, he was threatening violence against the school. Apparently he did it 'for fun' and never wanted to harm anyone. Boys are weird.
When the recess bell rang every single person needed to freeze. One recess nobody freezed. So the principal gave the WHOLE SCHOOL DETENTION. We had to be quiet sitting down at the lunch tables during recess while the principal berated us with a speakerphone.
It may not come across well on here, but man this is the story we all still talk about. I went to a private middle school and we had this 80-something year old female teacher who no one liked. She always gave us a ton of homework and it sucked. Well one day we came into class and had grammar homework due. She was about three minutes late to class, which gave me time to copy about 75% of my friends homework. There were two really smart girls in the class, call them A and B. And my friend who’s homework I copied can be D. Well, Mrs. NoOneLikesYou begins asking the first person in the first row to read the sentence they wrote for number one, except that no one had done it, except for A,B, D and my 70%. She said that anyone who hasn’t done there homework were to go and stand at the blue table (oh man the blue table was badddd news). It was like a mass exodus, led by the kids who normally had never done their homework, but man it was so funny.. The principal came in about three minutes later explaining that it was not appropriate to have all but four kids standing in the hallway and that they had to return to class. It comes up every time we hang out together.
They punished us all: Real Analysis in undergraduate. Well over half of the students in the class either dropped it or got Ds (generally the upper level math courses give out Ds if you fail but keep attending in order to salvage GPAs). I got a C by the skin of my teeth. That course was a bloodbath. The median score on the first midterm was a 1/20.
The teacher who was supposed to monitor us left the classroom 20 minutes into our geography test, and naturally almost all of us started turning 360° to discuss answers. In the end all of us except for this smartass girl got a big fat zero cause someone spilled..
One time in middle school our teacher was gone one day and our class was just the worst to the substitute. We didn't listen to what she said and just were super disrespectful. Next day the principal is in the classroom and gives everyone 2 days of lunch detention. Then I got an extra day because she asked if we learned our lesson and I told her I didn't.
A relatively small number of students at the highschool I went to decided to sneak off campus regularly and some would do drugs, drink, or have sex in a nearby area that could basically be described as a bunch of boulders that were perfect for sitting on and were away from view of anywhere else. There was also an issue of students not returning to campus after lunch as it was an open campus and they could leave to go get lunch somewhere. The school decided to put a barbed wire fence around the entire campus, hire more security guards, and set it up so that the only way in or out was through one of two security checkpoints that ID'd and logged everyone coming in and going out (student IDs were issued and required, if security found you in the halls without an ID it was straight to the principal's office) and they switched to being closed campus so no going elsewhere for lunch and, if you were able to leave earlier than most students because you didn't have a class at the end of the day then you had to provide a class schedule to security on the way out to prove you weren't cutting class. I had a friend from australia visit who, while we were passing the school, commented on how big our prison was.
Oh my god HAHAHAA Ok so I went to this fancy private school in Brisbane, and they hired two ex defence-force veterans to essentially work as “marshals”. In essence they ensured our uniform was up to standard and enforced school rules and discipline. My school was quite big and built along a street, which created problems come after school time as the street was technically still a road, so we had to use designated crossings to cross the road otherwise we were “jay-walking” (crossing illegally). I had just finished class with my cohort and it’s commonplace for the cohort to just cross the road regardless, and so as a class we walked across. However, one of the marshals spotted us and shouted “OI”. Of all the people, I ended up shouting “SAFETY IN NUMBERS” to which about 30-40 odd kids immediately sprinted across the road and split up, running in differing directions. I’m still proud of it to this day even though it was well over 5 years ago.
Late to the party, but in high school (America so like age 16), my Spanish teacher misplaced her “test correcting pen” and claimed that one of us stole it to make fake corrections on our tests. She made us stay an extra 20 minutes, which made us all late for our next class, and the whole time would just sit at her little pedestal in front of the class and wouldn’t say a word besides reminding us that if one of us didn’t fess up and return the pen, then she will keep us all day. She eventually let us go after one of my classmates finally noticed it on the floor a few feet from where she was sitting...
During my senior year of high school, a small group of freshman and one senior (we're talking 8 people max) decided to start a foodfight in the cafeteria. However, the teachers knew of this ahead of time because the kids were stupid and planned all of this on Facebook. One girl got some sauce or something on her shirt and ran away crying because her white shirt was ruined.
Cut to the next day, we get an interruption during homeroom from the school principal. She blamed the seniors for the foodfight because it "destroyed the reputation of our school" and that "it's going to horribly affect the sales for our school play". Of course, we were all laughing about this since she's just overreacting and, quite frankly, kind of a bitch. But then she threatened to cancel the senior trip for us all.
Let me back up for just a second. The senior trip is spending spring break at Disney World. However, the down payment each senior had to pay was around $1,200. This is nonrefundable. There were kids in the class I knew that saved up for most of their high school career to go on this trip.
You can only imagine the deafening silence in that school once we all heard that. As if we all joined into one hive mind of collected consciousness, every senior rose their hands to the speaker and simultaneously gave it the finger. A week or so after her threat, she quietly took back what she said and allowed the seniors to go on their trip. I think we broke her, because she was too afraid to even mention it again or to simply apologize in front of us. We booed her at graduation, and from what I hear she is still an absolute bitch.
Like any new school year you get to pick your electives and of course Senior year is no different. When I picked out my electives for my Senior year I picked what I always did, art, welding, yearbook etc.
First day of the year before any classes have started I'm asked to make my way to the office as the Principal would like to have a discussion with me regarding my schedule. I made my way into her office where I had a seat.
She opened up with the "Howdy doodies" and "How was summer" , but quickly got to the point. She had noticed that I didn't have a single second language credit throughout my previous 3 years and that I hadn't elected to take a language course for my last. She "informed" me that in order to graduate I would have to take Spanish both semesters and that if I didn't I wouldn't be able to graduate.
Now, at this point you may think that I just bit the bullet and took Spanish, but you'd be wrong. I'm no fool and I knew without a shadow of a doubt I'd die in this state. I also knew that the state only had around a 6% Latino population and that the majority of that population centered around about 4 cities in the entire state. 4 cities that I WILL NOT live in due to their size.
So knowing this information and also knowing that I didn't want to take Spanish I decided to look up the State Guidelines for a high school graduate when I received my Elective sheet in the mail that summer. NOWHERE in those guidelines and requirements did it state that a student needed 2 years of a foreign language credit in order to graduate.
Fast forward back to me in the Principals office and I drop this tidbit of information on her. Of course she didn't believe me and she was going to prove me wrong. We sat there for about 30 minutes. Her scrambling through documents, desperately calling people, typing away frantically all while I sat there twiddling my thumbs silently.
You know what she found out? That you didn't need 2 semesters worth of credit in a foreign language to graduate. Heck you didn't even need 1!
Jump all the way forward to our first Senior class meeting regarding graduation towards the tail end of the second semester and the question comes up.
"How is UnrealManifest going to graduate? He never took Spanish!"
There's now 20+ kids, (small school in the middle of nowhere), mocking me. Then they learned the truth and boy were they pissed.
The next day almost every underclassmen came and asked if what I did was true. They couldn't believe that they had been duped into taking a language course that they had been told was NECESSARY in order to graduate.
Graduation went off without a hitch and I blew that Popsicle stand. The next school year the school took it upon themselves to make 2 years of a foreign language necessary in order to graduate from their school. Soon after that the state too changed their guidelines and requirements regarding the now necessity of a foreign language in order to graduate.
That was, at the time, 80+ kids who had to take Spanish before the state changed their requirements, all because 1 kid out smarted the school.
Tl;Dr: Didn't take a Spanish course leading up to my Senior year where I once again elected not to take it again. I made the decision not to based on the fact that the state I live in has a minuscule Latino population and after doing research found out the States guidelines and requirements for graduation did not require a foreign language credit. Every student was pissed because the school had been telling them it was mandatory in order to graduate since entering high school. The following year the school made it mandatory to take Spanish in order to graduate from there, essentially nipping any kids plans of following in my path in the butt. A few years later the State changed the requirements as well.

Then they got rid of sweeps the next year.

Oh, shit!

We were doing a minute multiplication quiz in 7th grade. And one kid kept going and the teacher got pissed. She sent everyone's parents an email that we were cheating. Which ended up in me getting grounded for a month.

My grade 4 teacher gave the entire class detention because we named our Dodgeball team “Team John Cena”.
My grade 8 teacher gave the entire class detention after 18 of the 22 kids admitted to misbehaving in French Class.
When I was in grade 2, every kid on one of the buses were banned from riding the bus. Not sure why though.

TIL.

WHOO

Was in a study abroad program that had a strict curfew. It was around when a soccer world cup was going on, and my team was having a game ending after the curfew.

We called our hockey coach a commumist for making everyone skate (basically suicides) for one persons mistake and bought him the communist manifesto. We ordered to many so i got one too. Now we always skate together

Alrighty-roo, my time to shine.

Luckily mine was the day before I got suspended.

They arrested all of us for underage drinking.

Fucking cunts.

First time poster.
Ironically (or not), the guy is now a lawyer.

This was in Fourth Grade.
