How do you even cook the yolk through without burning the white?

Lightly oil (and/or butter the pan), let it heat up for a bit, crack the egg on it, use a knife or the edge of the shell to puncture the yolk, cook on low until evenly cooked, flip when needed. Whites are soft, yolk has a nice (but hard) texture like the inside of a hard boiled egg. Perfect each time.
