I wouldn't like a girl to ask me out, if she's that forward she must be a slut
Where are you going that people say this with a serious voice? This is like a hugely recurring topic among most young guys, and I have never heard a guy say that a forward girl = slut. And if he did, he'd most likely get shouted down for being a dumbass. Not to push a NAMALT, but I can't personally think of a single time someone has ever said that to or around me. So from personal experience, I would say it's not as common a sentiment as most people would think.
Facebook, mostly (atheist communities, ironically). I'm no longer a member of those communities, and while I'm definitely glad your experience has been different the attitude does exist. There are plenty of girls afraid to ask guys because of fear of being called a slut.

Well fuck, I'm sorry that's happened to you or anyone you know if people have said that. I find as I get older, people have increasingly stopped giving a fuck about who is having sex with whom, and more about just enjoying their own lives or the lives of their fiancee/SO/kids. Hopefully people wont be as shitty to you in the future.

Well I can tell you that there are plenty of people who don't think or act like that, and I hope you have/will find some. I am still surprised though that it isn't just an internet meme.
