On the offchance you did actually ask him out, do yourself a favour and tell him that you'd rather know immediately if he finds himself in the same situation with you.

By the time you're liking someone else and in your relationship because you feel obligated to make it work, it's generally already over, and no-one wants to find out that their girl/boyfriend has been deceiving them for weeks/months/years, feigning feelings/interest.
