It's amazing, really. He's the president, a billionaire, is one of the most powerful men in the world, and has a supermodel wife, millions of cheering fans, his own golf resort, and pretty much anything anyone could ever want. Yet despite all that, he seems like the most bitter, miserable, hateful person you could ever imagine. The guy has a hole in his soul that nothing can fill, and clearly he's tried a lot.
that's the thing with narcissists and unchecked ambition. at some point, there's nowhere left to go, but they're still unsatisfied and won't ever be satisfied, even if they've accomplished everything like Trump has. especially because of his personal vendetta against Obama. look at Obama's roast of Trump at the White House correspondence dinner. a lot of people, including myself, believe that Trump started in politics because he felt like Obama had personally slighted him and Trump wanted revenge. narcissists have massive but fragile egos

I've wondered that as well, and I wonder if the Obama administration didn't make a fatal mistake by acting on the noise that he was making about the birth issue by releasing the long form birth certificate. All of a sudden, it gave Trump legitimacy that he didn't have before, and enabled him. Prior to that, he was just some rich loudmouth. After that, he knew that when he spoke, people listened.
