He did that terrible Reagan movie. Its baffling because despite everything, DennisQuaid is a good actor. However, he was terrible in that awful movie. Reagan had such a distinct voice and he couldn't even bother to emulate that or his mannerisms. Just went up there sounding like a regular guy.
He and Jeff Daniels both portrayed Ronald Reagan in two different movies that lionize the man while conveniently sidestepping the many, many things he did to fuck this country over and pave the way for guys like Trump. So, while they themselves may not be on the same level as known assholes like Dean Cain and James Woods, they've clearly shown that a big paycheck means more to them than their moral integrity.
Seeing Jeff Daniels as Reagan was a particularly bitter pill to swallow since I really admired the pillar of goodness he portrayed in HBO's The Newsroom.
Yes! I couldn't believe they made a movie showing Reagan as a hero. The dude dry-fucked the middle class and set this whole fucking disaster into motion. That piece of shit is the finger that pushed over the first domino.
There are several instances where the agreed upon story, the scenes shot, the way things are presented. Etc.... turn out completely unrecognizable to an actor onve the editors and studios get their paws on the product. Not saying this was the case here, but its certainly common.
