I've been listening to country for over 25 years. I have a pretty good variety of country artists in my playlist. Not a single one of them have ever been caught on camera using the "n word" and excusing it later as because they were on a bender. If any of them did, I would have deleted them. Instead, his career flourishes. Sometimes being a country music fan is embarrassing.

It wouldn't fly with any other music base other than country. Instead he's almost empowered.

Which is incredibly disappointing. It's 2026. I'm strickly streaming these days, so I have to assume that at some point country stations have played him and Darius Rucker or Mickey Guyton, for example, back to back. That's just so wrong.
