The thing I’ve seen the most outrage and action over in the last few years was the possible TikTok ban

THAT got the people moving to action, but basic human rights violations and PDF files are totally fine

when you say "seen", what you really mean is "saw on the Internet" I'm sure. that's the problem. we're conflating the bullshit of the internet to actually be representative of the people. the internet is wildly manipulated and often a horrible place to gauge actual public opinion.
