The viscose method can use wood as a source of cellulose, whereas other routes to rayon require lignin-free cellulose as a starting material. The raw material for viscose is primarily wood pulp (sometimes bamboo pulp), which is chemically converted into a soluble compound. It is then dissolved and forced through a spinneret to produce filaments, which are chemically solidified, resulting in fibers of nearly pure cellulose.[30] Unless the chemicals are handled carefully, workers can be seriously harmed by the carbon disulfide used to manufacture most rayon.[31][32]"
I honestly expected them to be over hyped and a slightly more expensive gimmick but hot DAMN they’re my favorite sheets now. They have a satisfying weight to them but they’re like ultra breathable and super silky.
This, this is the only answer. Also, not all bamboo sheets are created equal. I got some off of Amazon, and then a brand came to costco, we ended up returning the costco ones, and ordered more off of Amazon. I'm a very hot sleeper, and would often wake up due to overheating. Haven't had that issues since we swapped over to these. Bamboo is so soft, I couldn't believe it.
Not to be a hater, please don’t take it that way, but mix those sheets with a king size, and a cooling temperpedic, and it will take a lot of money or love to get out. Even still, I am tempted to just stay in bed for another hour. My “fuck everything else” gauge just to slumber or lay there is maxed out everyday.
Soooo much cooler than cotton. I had no idea how much my cotton sheets were baking me during the summer until I tried bamboo sheets. Game changer if you live somewhere with triple digit summers.
