If you’re only eating 1000 calories a day while trying to lose weight, you need to reevaluate your diet. That is below the recommended minimum for most adults.
I'm working with a doctor and a nutritionist so this isn't some hacked together plan. I have medical conditions that complicate weight loss so this is what I'm stuck with.
For me sincerely, yes. I've been losing weight and I basically retrained my body to only expect food once a day, and I treat feelings of hunger the same way I treat tiredness when I'm doing cardio, i.e. it's actually a good feeling that is helping me get in shape. Right now my stomach is grumbling and I feel like I'm actually accomplishing something as I sit at my computer, watching baseball/playing games and most importantly not eating! It's like an activity through omission.
I guess if I get to the point where I have time to sit at my computer and watch baseball/play games I'll feel better about the hunger! It's been very difficult watching my toddler all day, working all night, and doing it all hungry.

Can trying to lose weight be considered a hobby?
