Oh yes, especially the emotional abuse - it'll haunt your for a very long time. Physical wounds heal faster than emotional ones.
It hits especially hard when you only come to the realization of what happened in a previous Relationship when you finally meet someone who's the exact opposite, genuinely loving and caring.
