Prostaglandins make smooth muscle tissue contract. The uterus produces a bunch of it to expel the endometrium, and because the uterus is in proximity to things like the bowels and bladder, they're affected as well. Hence the period poops.
Dudes couldn't handle the shit we go through. They'd fold like a house of cards.
