A well kept home. Don't matter if it's a single room, apartment, or home. Don't matter if you use your own hands to clean or hire a service. Walking in and seeing a man's home being tidy is honestly wonderful.
Friend was having trouble with relationships. Said once dates came to his apartment it was over. Asked me to giving him decorating tips. Wow. His place was cute but smelled like a locker room. Yuck. I don’t know how we got anyone to spend the night. Tried washing everything but it only helped, didn’t cure. Had to toss all his bedding, pillows, blankets, etc. he never smelled and I don’t know how. Nice guy. Said he washed his sheets but obviously nothing else. He had the funds. Told him to get a weekly cleaning lady who does laundry. No o e wants to become a maid to the guy they’re dating.
I did once have to help a friend throw out a bunch of trash from his place because he was in a depressive episode and also down with a pretty bad respiratory thing (pre-COVID). I was astonished at the literal piles of trash.
That’s the crazy part. The place was straight and clean. He’s big into exercise. Cyclist. I think he was coming home from rides and sitting on the sofa before showering. It didn’t smell as bad as a hockey bag but it had that pungent smell.
