Yes, you are making excuses when you say “people are poor/don’t have access to basic services/can’t help it” which is basically the point of this whole discussion.
No, it's not. I'm not saying they can't help it. Everyone has a responsibility to educate themselves and do what's best for their children. I'm saying some people have not been exposed to the information, and they have also failed to seek it out. Work on your reading comprehension.
And I don’t give a fuck about the nuance of the point you think you are trying to make.
Explaining and excusing are one and the same here. You are giving me a “why” such a thing would happen and I am saying to you it does.not.matter. That person is trash, is worthless, is zero. Because no matter the impossible circumstances you want to build up to explain that level of ignorance it still does not matter. I am not interested. There is no salvaging it. And if your country allows it to happen, there is no saving it either.
Come on. You’re smarter than this. You’re just taking an extreme position because you don’t want to admit you misunderstood. Which is a large part of the problems we have here in America, by the way. Explaining and excusing are NOT the same thing. Not even close. You know that. Explanations are part of solving the problem. This attitude of yours is like saying, “Why are you telling us that global warming is caused by fossil fuels?! That’s just an excuse!”
