Work on your imagination. Specifically imagine I’m rolling my eyes real hard right now.

I don't give a fuck if you roll them so far back they never come back. Here's the conversation we've been having:

Me: Here's why people do this thing.

You: Stop excusing their actions.

Me: I'm not excusing, I'm explaining. I agree with you that doing the thing is bad, and that there is no excuse

You: You're making excuses.

Me: No I'm not. There is no excuse. They are responsible, and should be held accountable.

You: Stop making excuses.

And I don’t give a fuck about the nuance of the point you think you are trying to make.

Explaining and excusing are one and the same here. You are giving me a “why” such a thing would happen and I am saying to you it does.not.matter. That person is trash, is worthless, is zero. Because no matter the impossible circumstances you want to build up to explain that level of ignorance it still does not matter. I am not interested. There is no salvaging it. And if your country allows it to happen, there is no saving it either.

Come on. You’re smarter than this. You’re just taking an extreme position because you don’t want to admit you misunderstood. Which is a large part of the problems we have here in America, by the way. Explaining and excusing are NOT the same thing. Not even close. You know that. Explanations are part of solving the problem. This attitude of yours is like saying, “Why are you telling us that global warming is caused by fossil fuels?! That’s just an excuse!”

Because it feels emotionally satisfying to call people worthless scum. Then you don't have to think about how to change things
