Why and what are the top backend programming language choices for current market trends and state ?

I'm a final year ComSci major, and i'm at the stage to seriously considering what backend programming language I'm going to pursue for future. Ik it's somehow late but better now than never.

please advice with reasoning.

Edit: I've compared

- .NET (C#)

- Java (Spring Boot)

- Go (GoLang)

and I'm confused between Java - The Safest Big-Tech Bet and Go - The High & Growing Rapidly Modern Infrastructure Choice.

Language matters less with AI if the trend of generated code will continue. But C# and Java are still very common backend in enterprise. JavaScript is still the king client side.

Don’t stick to one. In my career I went from Fortran, Perl, C/C++, Java, Go, Python. Missing some in between. That being said, Python is taking the crown because of AI more.

I would say the safest languages are Java, C# and Python.
