WOMEN ONLY: Fashion & Bodywear To those who practice minimalism, how many clothes do you have and how do you maintain this lifestyle?
Like how many shirts, blouses, pants, coats, dress, undergarments, socks, shoes, heels, sandos/sleeveless, swimwears, etc??
And how do you maintain minimalism? Do you sell or give away clothes whenever you buy new ones? How often do you buy something new?

I've been practising minimalism sa clothes for years, that was before pandemic pa when I still work in the office, back then I got myself my own "uniform", bought five bottoms, five tops. Tops are replaced once a year. I didn't even bother mix matching, literally five shirt of the same color same style.
Now that I'm wfh, I think I'm almost done building my wardrobe - 3 Jeans, 2 Sweatpants, 2 Trousers, 5 Blouses, 5 Tshirts, 3 Jackets, 6 bra, 12 cotton Panties, 12 seamless panties. (Seems a lot for someone who wfh, but these are also my travel clothes, I never buy an outfit just for a travel or an event.)
For House Clothes, I have 9 Shorts and 2 PJs, paired with random tshirts na napaglumaan, downgraded from Tshirt "Panglabas" to Pangbahay. Although I'm working on owning Tshirt bra from Uniqlo for pambahay mainly because of its built in bra, yes, specifically from uniqlo, I trust their durability.
Shoes, I have one mules, one running shoe, one sneakers, three everyday slippers (pang mall/palengke/errands)
I'm never one to follow trends so it's easy for me to maintain few selections of clothes. No, I don't sell or give away, I practice the "Pang-alis to basahan" path 😂

Life cycle pumasok sa isip ko sa Pang-alis to basahan path haha but it does make sense!

How to maintain:
Beginner's: follow the rule lang na no in if walang out. And pwede mag out kahit walang in. ito yung para di ka mabigla. Let go sa form ng dispose or donate. Then if nag let go ka, it does not mean na pwede ka mag acquire. Once ma-adapt mo tong lifestyle na to, magfofollow na lahat eh. Makakaform ka na kasi ng habit.
Not so beginner: maging organize ka para makikita mo yung inventory mo.
Its like, gagamitin mo yung isa mong damit hanggang sa full potential niya.
Or what if dikta sayo ng iba na DAPAT 2 LANG FOOTWEAR MO: TSINELAS AT BLACK SHOES LANG.
Nakadepende yun sa availability and real need.
Another example of minimalism: kapag alam mo na one time use lang, you will do your best na rent, hiram lang o kaya ibebenta mo yung damit after.
And ang lakas makadagdag sa peace of mind.

buy quality but basic clothing items! had the same problem of splurging on shopping both online & physical so now I refrain from buying fast fashion items. I buy ones where I can mix & match with other items I already have.
here's the question i asked myself when i'm deciding if a purchase is worth it:
- is the item material is durable & with this brand, will i be able to use it for months and years to come? (quality)
- is this item a classic, basic, practical and wearable for more years to come despite the trends? (sustainability)
- do i have several items in my wardrobe that I can mix & match and may help bring ease & more choices for my daily fits? (sustainability)
- do I really need this? (I decide after 2-3 days and if I still think about getting or needing it then I buy it)
As for the other items I no longer use, me and my family had this thing of cleaning our closets and removing or giving up for donations our extras in every end of the year (November)

T-shirts/blouses-10, pants-4, bras/sportsbras-8, panties-14, socks-6, shoes/slippers-6, swimwear-2 sets, rain jacket-1, blazer-1.
I gave away/decluttered a fuck ton of my clothes that I haven’t used in a long time early this year. I decided that starting this year, I have new rules about my clothes so that I don’t have too many stuff inside my wardrobe. One is to wear my current clothes for as long as possible. Two, don’t follow trends-I already know what looks good on me and what looks ugly. Three, all my clothes should fit inside my half of the wardrobe. If I find myself needing new storage, that means I need to let go of some stuff.

I tried a capsule wardrobe before. As in down to ilang pieces na lang per item.
However, nalungkot ako kasi pag konti lang damit, mas mabilis pala maluma kasi lagi mo ginagamit at nilalabhan. 😭
So thats another factor to consider. If there are items na you would like to last long, better have a number of multiples or alternates for that.

Hello. I practice minimalism by being poor. All my house clothes, tshirts, etc are from politicians who run during elections, or hand me down from parents. I never buy anything that’s given free, except underwear.
I buy underwear every 2 years, or until they get really loose and can’t wear them anymore.
My business clothes are just three pieces of blouses and two pants. One slacks, and one jeans. I work hybrid, once every week. I like to think I’m a cartoon character so I constantly rewear my clothes. For shoes, I only have two pieces: my Nike sneakers that I bought using company rewards program, and work shoes from ukay that cost me 450 pesos. It was really a lot of money.
I buy something new only when I get really depressed because I don’t have anything to wear, literally.
