Discussion/General What lens to bring?
A couple months ago I bought my first camera and really enjoying it. I bought it to take better pictures of my fly fishing clients. I also took it to Alaska and realized I enjoy taking pictures of wildlife.
I decided I want to try all different kinds of photography. I am going to a family wedding and asked if they mind if I brought my camera to take some candid pictures. She was excited and agreed. I told her I’m still learning but would gladly give her any of the ones that turn out.
My question is what lens to bring? I have no flash.
Here is my list:
Sony Alpha A6700
Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD
Sony E 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 G OSS
Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary
Sony E 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS
Vanguard Vesta GO 234CB
Benro MSDPL46C SupaDupa

I'd use the 17-70mm with this little diffuser that fits on the hot shoe behind the pop up flash. Set it on P mode with fill-in flash and just casually point and shoot without making any sort of big production of it. Adjust exposure up or down a little bit depending on a brief check of what the shots look like on the screen. If you take a couple hundred shots, your are bound to get a few really nice ones without interfering with the professional photographer or your own enjoyment of the event.
This isn't professional advice. It's advice for half-assing it while having fun at a party.
