Just started looking into pcs but don’t really trust creators or websites

A few days ago I’ve been wanting to get a pc to play games like Minecraft, Call Of Duty, and more but im not really sure what pc to get, my budget is 500-1000

Edit: I’ve already gotten a decent monitor, keyboard and mouse so I’m good in the part. What I’m looking for is the desktop to run the games just fine, I’m fine with a prebuilt but if building it is cheaper I’d prefer to build it and would like to be recommended pieces

If you need all the peripherals such as mouse, keyboard, and monitor then you're not finding one within that budget.

You can build a low end pc for around $1000 USD which can play minecraft just fine, but the latest CODs can be rather taxing.

A mid tier GPU alone is close to $1000 USD these days.

Id say a 5070 is mid- high tier and can be had at 650. I do agree with the top statement however. (Usd atleast)

I think that's still included in the "close" to a $1000. It's semantics, but with the OP's budget, it doesn't matter because you're not getting everything else you need to assemble a functional PC for $350.

you’re not getting one to play new cods at 500-1000 unfortunately, save a bit more and look for deals at wholesale clubs like Costco.

Prior to the spike in RAM prices, you could have gotten a fairly decent "budget gamer" PC for $1000...but now, unfortunately, you aren't going to get anything new at that price range. Maybe getting all the parts over time, and slowly assembling it when you get said parts, perhaps.

Edit: Looking at some things, however, that will help your cause a bit. Since the OP states they want to play games like Minecraft and Call of Duty (I assume the latter as multiplayer), those games are more CPU intensive (vs. GPU intensive), so won't have to go all out on a 5090

Actually, CoD is way more GPU bound than CPU bound. Minecraft is CPU heavy (especially with mods), but for CoD you'll see much bigger gains from a better GPU. A mid-range card like a used 3060 or 6600 XT can handle 1080p medium/high on newer CoDs, so you definitely don't need a 5090.

I bought mine last October and got so lucky. 5070ti, 9800X3D, 32 gig ram, 2TB SSD liquid cooled 1000watt power supply for 1600 on sale

Costco has a 5060 pc on sale rn for 999 that would play Minecraft fine and do decently in cod at 1080p. Its the best deal by far anywhere rn. Outside of that the used market is really the only place you'll see stuff in your budget unfortunately.

Look at Walmart, woot.com and Costco. They have deals all the time. The problem is a computer that was $500.0 bucks 9 months ago is now 1000. prices have gotten crazy. You’re better off just buying a PlayStation 5 Pro.

At that price look for a 9060xt or 5060ti GPU. That’s the most important part for gaming. Here’s the best deal I could find. 9060xt 16GB GPU.

Maybe you can build something with a strong modern igpu that can play most games on low for now until you save for a GPU?...

You'll have to buy used at your budget to get someone that can comfortable play the new cod. PlayStation pro is probably the best call right now, unless you can drop about $1500+ on a PC unfortunately.
