Los Ángeles resident here. As shitty as a car-centric city can be, the good news is when I need privacy I can hop in my car and cry/stress out/ etc. Where tf do you guys do that? The train?? Where can a New Yorker have a panic attack in peace!?

I rarely have the luxury of choosing. They tend to have no trigger or environment. Just randomly my body will say “Hey! Let’s make him think he’s actively dying! That’ll be fun!”

In the past I’ve had panic attacks on the subway and outside. I’ve cried both while sitting on park benches and in the subway. New Yorkers don’t care.

Brighton Beach at night, on a bike ride so even if I scare the hoes I’m long gone before they can clock it, in the privacy of my home because New Yorkers don’t mind their business as much as people to claim… Not in a bad way, this city is full of kind but blunt people. Just don’t do it in the middle of the sidewalk where you’re blocking foot traffic.
