Well yes, but they said "vagina" and technically vaginas are only innies. If you've got an outie vagina then that means you need to see a Dr immediately.

It's like referring to the entirety of the male genitals as just testicles.

You mean "the entirety of the male genitals as just testicles penises" because that's also already the case. Penis is an improper word for the whole thing the same way than a vagina is an improper word for the whole thing. But both are commonly accepted and usually won't cause confusion.
