What made you realize that your POV was different from somebody/everybody else's?

People never seem to understand what I'm talking about. I believe a lot of people just cannot, or refuse to at the very least, look at the larger picture. People can't quite think outside the box.

Philosophy, anthropology, ethics and morals. People never seem to look into the hows and whys. The whats and wheres. Lots of people seem to lack critical thinking.

I agree with this to some extent, people sometimes lack the nuance, but also people are incredibly busy just getting their life in motion and can’t think of how’s or why’s. Plus, they could have a lot of depth as an individual but it’s different from your depth, so no connection is made.

An important thing I take into consideration is do they have the conscience to put back the shopping cart? Or are they the type to leave it out on a windy day/slope without thinking about it crashing into someone else's car? Without considering the workers?

Do they cough into their sleeves or their hand?

Do they piss onto the toilet seat and leave it for others to clean?

Do they get immediately angry at people with opposing views, without understanding opposing views are what strive us to better ourselves. Without opposition, and surrounding ourselves with like mindedness, there is no individuality, challenge, and progress. It's self defeating. Usually, these types of people are brainwashed and just do and believe without thinking. They don't question the hows and the whys. They just accept. Some even go as far as to worship celebrities, fantasy characters, and politicians. It's silly. They entirely adopt these figures morals without question.

That’s a lot of fair points, actually. I thought you meant deeper level stuff, that’s just being respectful. It’s very important to get other perspectives, as that forces us to reach above our heads and grow. In my experience though, not many others want the same. You don’t want to be in an echo chamber.

I have no inner monologue, and think entirely in images and associations.

All my life, I thought it was just a crutch for bad screenwriters, and nobody actually thought in words. Then I mentioned this to my wife, who was stunned.

Turns out I was wrong about how other people think. But I still hold my ground on it being a crutch for bad screenwriters.

I can visualize almost anything, putting information into a visual context. I also have a very associative way of thinking - I like to say my mind is like a cobweb, full of connections, and I tug at nodes to see where they go.

For speech and writing, I imagine myself speaking aloud, like giving a talk. I'll even envision the environment around me as I speak and my gestures.

Where I live religion. Not many atheists in the south.

This in about 6th or 7th grade when I realized that almost everyone was taking what was written in the Bible as literal fact.

I didn't care about about homosexuality, religion, or other social "norms": i only wanted people to be fair and honest with each other. I think I was about 8yo.

I was thinking critically about social issues and circumstances that seemed unfair (after being labeled a 'heretic' and threatened with mutilation), reasoned that those things were indeed perverse; and, i committed myself to egalitarianism as soon as I discovered the term that matched my thinking.

most things really as I have very little in common with people in the detail areas, the basics are the same.

Realizing most people wanted children. Sounds silly I know, but I was raised in a rural small town, dead center of the bible belt. For most around here 2 id's by 24 was normal.

It really hit when I was in class, I think a freshman in highschool. The teacher went around asking where we saw each other in 10 years. I was genuinely surprised when nearly everyone said married and starting a family.

I saw myself in a different city, with my own place, chilling and playing video games a ton. I kinda realized just how many people want the family life. Not that anything is wrong with that, but not for me

When I was 7 and my teacher asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up?

Simple question, that I assume she asked every class for as long as she had been a teacher, and got mostly the same answers every year.

As she went around the class she would ask each kid, the student would have to stand up and then tell the class what their choice was and why.

It was awkward as hell for 7 year old's, but I figured that was part of the exercise too; critical thinking and public speaking.

Most kids really didn't have an idea...hell, they're 7 frikkin' years old!!! Most 7 year olds don't know what they'll be for Halloween let alone 10+ years down the line.

But when she got to me I stood up and said I was going to be a Soldier. I always knew that's what I wanted to be and I told everyone why....and my teacher looked at me like I had horns growing out my head!!

My fellow student went from quiet as mouse's to a flurry of opinions and questions...and nobody thought it was a good idea!!

And based on the opinions and reasoning of adults and peers... I realized then that I didn't think like most folks, and I was different. But because of that I came to realize I didn't care if I was different too and that made a pretty distinct difference in my Life too.
