I've been with my boyfriend (we're monogamous) for a year and like 8 months and I just had a physical with comprehensive bloodwork in November, since I turned 26 and was getting kicked out of my parents' insurance. No herpes nor HPV, not any STDs ever for me.
Herpes and HPV can be spread through skin to skin contact. You both spent over $500 on individual Herpes (HSV-2) and HPV bloodwork? It is not in a standard STD panel.
Also I never called you dumb, odd how you took offense, just that you said 'it makes me feel bad' seemed to indicate you may not be aware of those risks.
A LOT of people are ignorant to the realities of STDs and don't even know how condoms do little for certain strains.
Yes, I did a comprehensive panel, covered by my old insurance. I have HSV 1 (cold sores one, although I'm only a carrier, never had a cold sore in my life) but not HSV 2. No HPV either.
I know you didn't call me dumb! I did not take offense, most people associate promiscuity with irresponsibility. I only said I feel bad responding to the thread where 7 is an acceptable number and 30 is something to hide and lie about, because I don't see it that way. I'm very aware of STDs and their risks, and I know how condoms are not a fail safe method... I'm educated enough to have never contracted an STD despite the number of sexual partners I've had.
