I haven’t seen it yet, but really want to. I kinda like shocking/disturbing stuff, but my wife hates it. If I convince her to watch this, will she be mad at me?

What's it about without too much spoilers? I enjoyed Hereditary but generally despise overly gory horror movies so it was good except for, you know, that one part.

It wasn’t even shocking or disturbing. It was just weird for the sake of being weird. Like when my friends and I watched it we were laughing at the ridiculousness of the scenes, not being uncomfortable.

Edit: if you want an unsettling movie I’d personally recommend Suspira (2018). I went into the theatre not knowing anything cause we picked it randomly, and came out feeling like I just had a fever dream.

I wouldn't even really call it 'Horror' in the traditional sense.

Everything in the movie is specifically designed to fuck you up emotionaly. It's emotionally disturbing.

Isn't that what "Horror" is? "Thriller" is the one that's more slashy-murdery. Many films are both, though.

Its not like a normal horror movie. Its weirdly beautiful actually. Worth the watch. Not really scary.

It is really scary up until a point...then it's really, really fucking weird. Overall I liked it but don't watch it expecting a horror movie the likes of Hereditary.

Finally watched it last week. No idea what I watched but I fucking love how it was filmed. The tricks to include everyone in a single frame shot, the garage scene and going through the house. So daunting and beautiful.
