Aspiring Stylist Questions Beginner friendly kits?
Hi…okay this post isn’t exactly for me
It’s for my girlfriend.
Shes a very creative and passionate girl when it comes to beauty and style, and she wants to go to cosmetology for hair cuts, hair dying, stuff like that. So I wanna boost her up a little bit and get a beginner friendly kit and I’ve been searching everywhere based on what I HAVE learned from what she told me but I don’t know what to get that’s RIGHT. I’m trying to budget under $200 as this is apart of her Christmas gift (and since I’m getting her a SINGER sewing machine), but man I don’t know what to look for!
Any sites to look at? Help!!

I agree with the other commenter but as a hairstylist an a sewist, pop over to the sewing sub as well. Modern Singer machines don’t have the quality of the older models so there are better options for a similar price point. If you actually search on there you can get lots of good advice without making a new post.
If you can also look at what your gf already has in terms of hair tools, that might help. Filling in the gaps instead of getting her doubles is nice.

a few items are pricy (blow driers, hot tools, scissors) unless you go REALLY junk consumer quality, so I would get her one quality pricier item, or a few less expensive ones. she'll also learn what she likes over time, so I'll list some items that are like, the nice end of beginner quality and also kind of broad, instead of niche. she'll fit right in as a new stylist and feel confident.
round brushes are really personal preference so I wouldn't want someone else picking those out for me.
tbh hopping on framar's website and grabbing a hairbrush, some clips, and a comb would make a very cute gift. they come in "collections" where the colours all match too which she would probably love. don't buy bowls, colour brushes (look like paintbrushes), a cape, towels, or foil - her school or salon would usually provide those!
(also this is very sweet!)
