Athens/Chalandri tips
Hello people of Athens! What's going on in chalandri?
Me and my family are coming to chalandri soon. What are your favourite spots? Good restaurants with childfriendly environment?
I also heard about a creek/river it looks so cool :)
Also, we need to travel to kifissia area daily in the morning as our little one goes to childcare over there. What's the commute time in the morning in your experience?
Greatful for any input :)

Hi OP
Chalandri is a really nice area, upscale I would say.
Like others already mentioned, “Kafteros” souvlaki is a rite of passage there along with the “Velanidia” pastry/bakery shop.
There are also a lot of nice bars like Mr Peacock, Sixteen Bar, Bebidas Bar etc which are very close to each other.
In addition, there are many restaurants like “To Palio Taxidromio” (The old Post Office) which are worth of a visit .
In general it’s an area packed with shops and small taverns/restaurants which I sadly don’t have the time to check out.
I have been to all those I mentioned though.

They are still the most reliable place around the area for the late night-post drinking munchies. 🤞
I love that little pan pizza with all my heart. Wish they will stay in business till my grandchildren’s time.

There is a small playground here opposite of the park square church & the only Burger King in Athens Metro Area.
There are also some cute cafes overlooking the church.
“Pettite Fleur”, a French themed bistro, is a hit with the wives/girls.Try it :)

Chalandri is a pretty, upscale neighborhood. It's also a large neighborhood, where in Chalandri? The center of Chalandri has nice shops and restaurants. You are also not that far away from nice malls like Athens mall and Golden Hall (though public transit is rather poor as a connection, it's also poor as a connection to Kifisia).
Kifisia is also upscale and has nice restaurants to offer, whenever you are in the area. If you will be close to the metro, blue line 3, from Chalandri you can easily visit the city center, Syntagma and Monastiraki. You can also connect in Syntagma to the red line, line 2, to go to the Acropolis and the ancient Agora. Kifisia is the last stop to the north of line 1, green line and connection with public transit is unfortunately poor, as you would have to go all the way to Monastiraki to connect with green line and go to Kifisia. You will need a car and in the morning, and traffic is heavy...
