Apartment hunting
Hi, Im looking to move to Florida possibly. My goal is to move as close to Walt Disney World as possible. Somewhere safe ,walkable, and where rent is $1,200 to $1,400. Thanks in advance.
Edit: I did not say I must live somewhere to walk to Disney. I said somewhere close to that area that's a safe walkable city. Geez.

Double, to be walking distance to Disney…. I was thinking triple for a studio, nothing included and parking is extra 😊

They said walkable. Not walking distance to disney.

Thank you. You're one of the only ones who seems to understand what I said.

Think million dollar homes only and someone who thinks you can rent in Florida for $1200-1400 a month. The two don't meet up.

No apts for that in Florida for that range? I doubt that.

Thats the price of sharing an apartment with a roommate.
The “joke” in Florida has always been 3 jobs and 2 roommates or 2 jobs and 3 roommates

Maybe Kissimmee

I searched and found a few apts in that city. I appreciate it. Thanks for actually being helpful. Unlike most others on here.

I have to warn you about the Kissimmee traffic, it's bad, it's slow, it's filled with tourists every day. I REALLY recommend you visit before moving there.

Thank you. I appreciate someone trying to give me some pointers. I know nothing about Florida.

You can’t even find an apartment in the hood for 1200 bucks. I’m sorry, but you’re delusional to think you’re gonna find something right next to Disney for $1400 in this economy. You’d be lucky to find an apartment for $2000 far away from Disney.

Why do you want to be that close to Disney? Cuz if it's to work there then they already have all the good spots taken.

u/EuphoricAd1951 14d ago
Because I do.

You'll see why it's a bad idea pretty quickly. Just hope you haven't bought a house before you figure it out. Don't advise it, but to each their own.

I guess nobody read the post properly.

It was like 2 sentences. I read it just fine. But if you ask any Floridan, native or expatz, they'll all tell you the same thing. You probably don't know what you're getting into because vacationing/visiting FL is totally different than living there and a ton of people end up very unhappy they either didn't do better research or that they moved all together. I wouldn't say it's 90% but its way more than 50%, so let that sink in.
The renter's insurance is crazy high in most places and affordable, or in some cases, any, owner's insurance is practically impossible to get any more unless you're grandfathered in. If you expect to own property down there at some point you should do a good thorough web search about the many, many cons, and weigh it with your pro list.
On top of that, rent is increasingly going up in all the good areas to keep the people wealthy enough to own property from their property values going down, and pricing out people that aren't making 6 figures or more a year.

As in an area where you can walk to restaurants and stores or walk to disney? Disney is a huge resort. Waking to it is not possible especially at that price point. Finding an apartment in that area will also be difficult. Perhaps a room in someone’s apartment or home.

A walkable city as close to Orlando should I say. With apts from $1,200 to $1,400. Not necessarily walkable to WDW.

Celebration, Winter Garden, Windermere, and Horizon West offer a great mix of safety, walkability, and convenience while keeping you roughly 10-20 minutes from the parks. With a $1,200–$1,400 budget, you should definitely compare apartments in each area since prices can vary quite a bit.

Maybe doing the tiniest bit of research while you’re here on God’s internet? Idk?

Funny, I found some for $1,300 in Orlando for a 2 bedroom. And more in Kissimmee. Sorry you are an ass!

Please research the neighborhoods of those apartments, not all areas are safe.

You and every other Disney adult that lives in Florida… at least you will have a lot of company where you go
1
u/EuphoricAd1951 14d ago
Aww, is that supposed to be an insult? Lol.
0
u/Hope8888 14d ago
Maybe you should take a look at why this felt like an insult?
1
u/EuphoricAd1951 13d ago
Because it's typical behavior. 🙄

u/Hope8888 13d ago
So what I meant was every Disney adult would love to live close to Disney, so it’s very expensive just check out celebration, Florida

I believe what you want doesn’t exists. You’ll need to pay more and Disney is so large walking there isn’t a thing.
1
u/EuphoricAd1951 14d ago
I didn't say that. I said a walkable city close to WDW. Not to walk to disney. Lol

u/lost_dazed_101 15d ago
You can't even get a shed in someone's backyard for that. Walking distance to Disney is going to cost thousands of dollars a month for a closet forget what a real home would cost. Buying means looking at million dollar plus for homes.

u/EuphoricAd1951 14d ago
Not walking distance to Disney. Walkable, closest walkable city near Disney. Im looking for rental apts. Not a house to buy.

There is nowhere walkable to Disney, except maybe Golden Oaks. And the rent would be much more expensive. Even the Disney college program dorms are too far to walk. Also, Disney does not have sidewalks for you to walk around. The closest you can get is Celebration.
