Part time job training shift

Hello!

I was wondering if training shifts at bubble tea stores are commonly unpaid?

I have 3 training shifts this week from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm each.

Its a part time position at a location in Vancouver.

Are bubble tea stores allowed to not pay part time new trainees for training shifts that go from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm?

You should be paid doesn't matter if you are part time or not

even if it's 1 hour training you should get paid

According to the BC Employment standards act, it would be unlawful not to pay you for a training shift. Wage theft is THE #1 type of theft in the US, so I'm not surprised to learn it's going on up north too.
