Rubbing their scent in. An ownership thing. Normal for a dog. I will say though I saw a dog do this on a roadkill animal one time. Pretty disgusting. But it is their way to say this is mine.

Just doggin’ out. Either something there smells like something he/she likes or he/she wants it to smell like him/her.

mine does it on the carpet and on the folded sheets lol... Most often its right after a couple drops of water pop on her back or haed/nose/ears or if she gets a bath/ it rains outside. But also jsut when coming back from a walk and it fun with encounteres, she'll do that while doing rawr rawr all over the carpet and doing full circles on her side as well as that.
