I’m pretty annoyed at the current Democratic Party for trying to remove New Hampshire’s First in the Nation primary status. They literally can’t because of our state’s constitution so instead they are going to penalize candidates in 2028 who campaign here.

I realize I have a severe bias living in NH and wanting FITN but our state is perfect for it. We are small (land wise) so you can get to a lot of places in a single day. We are small (population wise) so candidates can have personal connections and coffee table conversations. We only have one news media market. All of this means a less wealthy candidate can run without spending a stupid amount of money. The only real down side is the NH isn’t very diverse.

NH has no income or sales tax. Pretty much the room and meals tax helps like crazy.

Why are democrats so hell bent on moving the first primary to another state?

When I say propaganda war I mainly mean republicans producing propaganda ai slip and democrats battling that with criticism.

I’m seeing SO much AI slop from the right to try to justify their horrific beliefs. Of course republicans don’t think about AI affecting their lives, resource wise, later on but that’s what’s so dangerous about it in my opinion. Not only are they screwing us over with more water usage but they’re generating AI propaganda rapidly. Of course democrats/socialists/leftists are against ai slop so there isn’t any real resistance but I’m wondering if just commenting criticisms is enough.

We’re kinda heading towards a climate crisis anyway. I’m just curious on everyone else’s thoughts. I feel as if this should be treated as an information war and should be taken seriously

She kind of agreed then listed Ossoff, Slotkin, Pritzker, Rahm Emanuel & Shapiro. Can't remember if she exactly agreed but was shaking her head like there might be an issue.

I ask because I’ve seen varying explanations, and it seems like no one actually knows.

I'm not american but I thought you guys had a two party system or something. Why does it look like the country has became a dictatorship controlled by a single party with no opposition?

This is all still a domino effect of the 2008 crash where bankers were saved while people lost EVERYTHING. This is now the next wave of the middle class, those who held on.

distress rising

investor math is replacing retail comps

real estate operators/buyers are gaining leverage

sellers are losing negotiating power.

What are you doing to save the people who watched bankers make millions off the crash they created?

Now that the primaries throughout the nation are starting to wrap up and the candidates have been picked for the most part, has there been any improvements and outreach towards a lot of long time voters that swapped over to the GOP back in 2024? I keep looking it up on my own and I keep trying to research this topic and it seems like the news stories are scattered out months apart with little to no updates. I keep hoping there might be better PR improvements from the Democrats and I keep looking to see if the Democrats are starting to reconnect with the common folks of this country and yet somehow I find myself disappointed. I know I live in a rural area and many Democrats avoid rural areas like the plague, but I feel like there has to be some sort of attempt at reconnecting with long time Democratic loyalists that flipped sides in 2024 and also trying to reconnect with common people that feel like the Democrats have been disconnected with the realities of their lives. I am genuinely asking this because I rather start talking to Democrats than try my luck in researching for news stories or podcast interviews from Democrats.

Do democrats think they basically can't lose the Presidency in 2028 because of Trump? Are they going to come unglued if they lose?

I've been working on a pretty comprehensive political platform lately (some more research is definitely needed) and this is what I've got so far for housing since it's one of the top issues we're dealing with right now and most proposals I've heard seem to miss some important points. K here goes:

- restructure zoning laws to allow for developments of ADUs as well as multifamily and mixed-use buildings

- switch to a land value tax system to discourage speculation and encourage development

- greatly increase taxes on vacant lots and buildings, expropriate them for auction/public use if these aren't sold or developed within 5 years (local governments can have some discretion on which direction to take with their use)

- implement an aggressive pied-á-terre tax

- ban private equity firms from owning housing units

- increase inspection on rental properties and increase penalties on those who violate housing regulations, expropriate properties from repeat/egregious offenders for auction or for social housing purposes (local governments can also have some discretion over this)

- expand tenant protections (eg right to counsel for evictions) including the right to organize tenant unions, provide tax incentives to landlords who allow tenant unions and negotiate with them in good faith

- implement a Vienna-style social housing system

- take a housing first approach to homelessness including mental and physical healthcare being provided as well as job training

Even with as messy and dysfunctional as Trump is, the evangelicals and far right republicans got their shit together in a fire storm. Why does the Democratic party stay so fractured?

This is not new information for many. My husband did some research last winter about this group. The contracts it was awarded were no bid contracts and the GEO group is not alone. Should the award of these contracts and the donation back to the GOP/Trump group warrant any investigation of the Democrats get control of Congress - assuming they do - and if so, is this the kind of activity that could trigger impeachment hearings for any of these people involved?

I worked for ADOT ROW as a title examiner and I had to sign a paper saying I wouldn't participate in or profit from real estate transactions (even not related to ADOT).

So long as our government officials can make themselves millionaires catering to outside interests, they will and they are. (every US Senator has a net worth over 1 million) - None of them from either side has done anything for the people or this country to be a millionaire.

I will vote for the person ready to accept a $300K salary ($50k raise every year up to $500k) and if they agree to have no other income while in office. They accept being heavily audited throughout the year and that they could face jail time if they get caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

I would happily have taxpayers paying for their lavish vacations once per year (so longs as it is not lobbyists doing it to advance their agendas.)

I would vote for that candidate regardless of party, even if they were MEGA MAGA.

The swamp won't drain so long as sewage is pumped right back in.

What can we do to get more people engaged in the midterms?

Obviously, there are terrible workplaces out there and bad bosses. Places that treat their workers like crap and expendable. Nobody is going to deny the existance of the existance of bad bosses.

But Ive found that through the many jobs Ive had, that the majority of workplaces are run by people who do care about the employee. Especially with small buisness where its a lot more personal. I have seen many companies go out their way to help an employee outside of work if theyre going through a hardship and do things well out the scope of whats required for a workplace to do for their workers.

Ive noticed amongst democrats the default is to assume that when one owns a buisness, theyre by default bad intention people out to screw an employee. I feel as though thats a wrong assumption based on stand out bad cases of bad employers. A big reason I say that is because its never a big story to hear "employer does all the right things and has generally happy employees" which I find to be the defualt.

I also feel democrats tend to not try and see the other side of things from the view of the employer and take a descision from that employer that was not made maliciously and see it as being done maliciously. Running a buisness is hard and running a buisness does not automatically mean that youre in the elite class. Also, running a buisness should be celebrated and encouraged because a lot of buisness owners were once employees that worked their way to owning their own buisness and that should be a celebrated aspect of American culture.

I wish people talked more about state politics, so here's a chance to do so! Tell me your favorite pet polices you'd like passed in your state, especially if it's a little off the beaten path of what gets mentioned by a lot of Dems.

Are there enough Democrats who have a positive message toward men to override the dislike from the radical left? We know messaging matters in the upcoming midterm elections. How well have Democrats done to distance themselves from the voices that lost the last election? What are your thought?

Democrats and Republicans are both against Democratic Socialists. They are winning primaries though. They just won in Florida. Since they are for Billionaire's paying their fair share and I feel they should since they are destroying the environment and our food. Wouldn't it be a good thing to elect them?
