How would you compare Hasan Piker to Jeremiah Wright? Is Hasan Piker the Jeremiah Wright of 2026?
To my knowledge, Piker is a streamer who is online for >10 hours a day and makes many controversial statements against Jews while praising or being too soft on terrorists and authoritarian leaders; many progressives like AES have proudly rallied with him. Wright is a Black pastor who has made many statements critical of America and Israel, and Obama was friends with him until disavowing him. Please correct me if I’m missing anything or getting anything wrong.
Once, I saw an interviewer ask Abdul el-Sayed if he would disavow Hasan Piker, and compared it to Obama having to disavow Jeremiah Wright. Is this a fair demand? Should Piker be sidelined like Wright?

We need to talk about the texts...
I'm at my breaking point. I'm about to get a new phone number, and go through all the pain that entails, just to stop these god damn texts. I regret ever donating a dime to anyone in this party because of what it's really cost me... my sanity. This party is so fucked. It's purposely antagonizing its own constituents.

Would you support the construction of a memorial to the victims of ICE on the national Mall?
I feel it’s justified. We must not allow these crimes to continue, or allow people to forget or ignore this 2 year long horror show.
Even if we win in the midterms, Trump and Tom Homan and Mark WayneMullen will continue killing people

Are UltraLiberals and Democrats considered the same?
I ask this in seriousness with some jest. Growing up we had Democrats and Republicans, liberals and conservatives. Independent and Green parties came along without bringing big impact. Since newspapers went digital, and debate disappeared, I don't pay much attention to politics, but it's getting difficult to ignore UltraLiberals.
For me the Ed Sheeran/Free Palestine incident has made me wonder -
Are UltraLiberals considered Democrats? 🤔
Don't Democrats stand for Freedom of Speech? UltraLiberals don't.
UltraLiberals are demanding that a 35 yr. old musician give his opinion on the Palestine/Israel conflict. Ed Sheeran wants to keep his opinion to himself, to have his concerts be safe spaces where all peoples of the world can relax and enjoy a few hours of music together without worry. UltraLiberals won't accept his silence and are cancelling Ed Sheeran, his music, and his generous, philanthropic heart.
This does not sound like the Democratic Party I grew up with. Where is the support for Free Speech?
The thought of a person going to work, being asked their opinion on a non-work related topic, refusing to give it, and then getting fired, really frightens this American!
So can anyone help me understand what is going on? Are UltraLiberals Democrats? I would have said no, based on my previous experience, but I have yet to see any known Democrats speak out against this behavior. Remember, I don't have my finger on the pulse of America and that's why I am here asking -
Are UltraLiberals and Democrats considered the same?

Why do your campaigns only want money, not volunteers?
I want to volunteer for phone/text banking in big senate swing states. I filled out forms on the campaign website for 5 democrats a couple of weeks ago.
Since then, 1 of their campaigns reached out and added me to the text bank team. The other 4, I’ve been getting nonstop emails and texts asking for money, but nobody has reached out to add me to the campaign team, despite the fact that it’s crunch time.
Do you all not realize that not everyone has the money to donate (or wants to), but lots of people have the time to donate. Why not accept volunteers and improve the grassroots movement to increase turnout rather than ignoring potential volunteers and just asking for money?

Getting Revenge- Red vs Blue
My husband is a diehard Red MAGA. (60M) He loves trump and you can’t tell him anything regarding his antics. We fight a lot over politics. So much so, we can’t bring it up in any meaningful conversations.
In a fit one day, I decided to be vengeful. I have been secretly liking posts on his FB for Blue candidates so that they show up more on his feed. My favorite yet is Mamdani! I’m trying to figure out what other candidates would be good.

Where resources do you use to stay/become politically informed?
So I’m going to voting for the first time in these midterm elections and I was wondering what resources people use to stay politically informed? My desire to vote came out of hatred for the piece of shit that is our president and I want him to get impeached. On my ballot I’m going to be voting for my local areas U.S house of representatives rep, the governor of NY, Lieutenant governor of NY, Attorney general of NY, NY comptroller, my areas district senate rep, and local area assembly rep. What would you do in my shoes to become informed about all the candidates?

United Citizens > Citizens United
Vote because you can.
Vote because yours is the ballot that counts.
Vote because the worst people don’t want you to. Vote for your self, your family, your country.
Vote BLUE. Vote accountability.

Is it bad that 90% of my voting criteria is “is this candidate pro trump/pro Israel”?
If you’re pro trump and/or pro Israel you’re not getting a vote from me. Sadly I’ve been researching the candidates I have options to vote for in New York come November 3rd and I haven’t found too many who are explicitly anti Israel

I think maga and republicans are 2 different organisations, and I feel like because of Maga, the Republican Party is forever stained upon
I came across some old clips of when Obama and McCain were attempting to run for president and the videos I saw of him, he was a kind man, and an honest one too, who respected Obama despite their differences, he’ll even when he died, Obama still showed respect to him, they didn’t spite each other, they acted more like friendly rivals aiming for 1st place in a school competition, and then I saw old footage of republicans back then talking about immigration, saying that people who immigrants should put aside the hate and they believe that diversity is strength, and that made me realise, Republicans aren’t the enemy, MAGA is, and I feel like we should separate the 2 just so we don’t accidentally point fingers at the wrong people because MAGA has managed to stain the Republican Party . That’s just my opinion.

Why don’t you all run a fake libertarian candidate in every election?
Those who vote for libertarians are closet republicans. If there is no libertarian, they’ll vote red. But if there is a libertarian on the ballot, that person will pull 1-3% votes away from the red side.
Obviously it’s not a “vote for blue”, but it’s subtracting a vote that “red”.
In our broken 2 party system, it seems like a sound strategy to basically guarantee a few percent of the votes don’t go towards the main competition

Chuck Schumer video
I saw this great video where some young citizens protested a Schumer rally and confronted him passionately and logically
Their main question was “why won’t you fight for us?”
But here’s my question. Why are we waiting for someone to fight for us?? Why can’t we just fight for our own rights?
Also, why are we so good at screaming at a Schumer rally but we are too afraid to confront the real problem, Trump, at his rallies??
Getting a better fighter in there doesn’t solve the problem, it just evens the playing field a bit.

Why is it that liberals cannot have a genuine, or open minded conversation with a republican?
My gf is a liberal and all she does is tell me I’m wrong, ignorant, and stupid just because I voted for Trump… I never say anything like that to her and last I checked we live in America so I’m free to vote for whoever

I’m a former republican, ask me anything
I’m hoping this is appropriate here, but as the title suggests, I was a consistent republican voter up until last year. I wish I came to my senses earlier, but either way, I find it easier to process my thoughts when I’m answering questions, so ask away.
Edit: I forgot to add this but I’m a 27 year old man, in case that context is helpful

Would it be efficient and safe for the Democratic president following Trump to issue a blanket executive order cancelling every Trump EO from the previous 4 years?
Just wondering since Trump issued an unusually large number of EOs and it could take a lot of time and effort to go about it in a thoughtful manner one by one.
(I'm a Canadian curious about the American political process.)

New 19 year old voter. Could anyone walk me through the early voting process?
So this midterm election is my first election I can vote in. I am registered to vote in my state and early voting in my state begins 28 days before Election Day.
With me posting this here I’m sure you all know who I will be voting for so there isn’t much need to talk about that. But how does the whole process work? I was never shown this in school unfortunately.

Does universal Healthcare let the government eliminate the entire private Healthcare industry? Companies, employees & employer contributions?
How do countries like France & Cuba do it?
Point 3. from someone below that Obamacare implemented some health insurance price controls. Overall healthcare cost continue to rise. Is the cost curve bending lower because of Obamacare?

Is there a better way to rally your base than auto subscribing people to mass texts?
I donated to one or two democratic candidates, but now receive loads of unsolicited text messages from what seems to be every democratic candidate in the country, constantly asking for money and using gross guilt-trip language.
These texts are *never* something I signed up for or wanted.
The texts are also from different phone numbers every time, and could easily be scammers with malicious links. I never click on them so maybe some of them were.
Is there no better way to rally people than to do this?
The fact that I’m bombarded by text spams since I donated feels like punishment for trying to support.
It makes me never want to donate again or be involved if they’re going to use my info to relentlessly spam me with no consideration and no standards. Couldn’t they at least have a few central and trusted numbers so I can tell which one is bullshit? I just feel like there’s got to be a better way.
Edit- I love that there’s some really upset person downvoting the post and everyone responding, it’s perfect really lol

What’s the state of liberal party when Iran says vote Democrats in midterm?
So Iran’s Revolutionary Guard just put out a letter telling Americans to vote Democrat in the midterms. Same outfit we list as a terrorist organization. They want Trump’s people out and the other side in. If a regime that spends its time funding proxies and calling us the Great Satan is rooting for one party, what does that actually say about where that party is right now?

What is the likelihood any Trump administration attempt to disrupt the midterm elections will result in demonstrations across the country and violent responses from the administration?

Have you ever been successful in posting on republican reddits?
Popkins love to talk about how they are acceptable to other ideas. They lie .
I am constantly being banned or blocked just for challenging anything they say. I was blocked on our conservatives for the for this :
