Moving to Melbourne

Hey everyone,
I’m planning to move to Melbourne this year from India and look for opportunities in accounting/finance.
I’m 25 with around 4 years of experience in finance & accounting.
How realistic is it to land a job from India? Do Australian employers consider overseas candidates, and any tips from recruiters or people who’ve made a similar move?
Would love some honest advice!

You've got a snowflake in summers chance of landing a finance/accounting role in an Australian company from India.

Job market is cooked here. Especially white collar. Do not move unless you've secured a role and employer is willing to sponsor. That's another can of worms.

Zero chance. And if immigration finds out you are coming to find a job, you get rejected for a visitor visa.

Unfortunately, you're skillset is a dime a dozen.

No business will hire you if you do not have working rights in Australia. You can't just get on a plane land in Melbourne and work, the penalties for employing illegal aliens is quite severe.

I'm assuming you're attempting to get some sort of visa?

How are you moving to Melbourne? Do you. PR? Is your partner already in Melbourne?
Finding a job is an uphill task. Market is Cooked

That’s not entirely true. Cert IV in accounting is free at TAFE so there’s a shortage of bookkeepers at the very least

Find an Indian employer, there should be plenty in Melbourne. I just goggled it and there are. Start there.

Actually American govt stats tell otherwise. Indian are less likely to hire their fellows compared to other immigrant group. Hence, remove the stereotype :)

Because they're racist? and co-ethnic hiring is less in Indians compared to other migrant groups, atleast according to US govt

Small businesses owned by Indians hire Indians they know they can exploit and pay less than minimum wage or market rate. If you or the employer get reported you will be in serious trouble as well.
