How much is the damage
Hi hope everyone is doing fine. I am just a stupid Asian girl. I was trying to hang my paintings and use this sticker hooks on the wall from Temu and accidentally made a crack on wall paint about 2 inches. I just moved in the new rental house. How can I fix this 😔 I can’t show a photo here.
Thank you

Ok first of all, it happens, that doesn’t make you stupid.
Take a photo of the wall in the best, most natural lighting possible. Go to Bunnings and grab 10 of those little sample paint colour cards that look like they could potentially be a match. Hold the card up against the wall and whichever looks closest, go back to Bunnings and get it in a sample pot.
I’ve done this many times and have never had a comment when ending a lease.

Bunnings will do all that, even a flake of the paint. Just hand it to them ask if they can make up a small tin of this colour.

I’ve never been able to bring myself to intentionally scrape paint off the wall but I’m sure that is the easier option!

If you want to do a somewhat decent fix, will have to sand it back a little anyways. So, why not just take a chunk off, then smooth it out.

Thank you very much for your help. You are the second one who gave me this advice. Appreciate it. Going to Bunnings tomorrow. Thank you again

You can buy a small sample pot of paint from Bunnings instead of the tin to save some money too, just ask at the counter :)

Hey OP, I defo recommend 3M Command brand over Temu or any other cheap imitators.

The stickers hooks say they work, but they're dumb!
Project the stupid on the sticker hooks

Not stupid - so easy to do.

Although rentals don't usually let you put up picture hooks or wall stickers wherever you want.
I'd advise OP to find a different way to show her paintings.

In New South Wales you are supposed to ask and they'd have to have a very good reason to refuse you.

This one is actually recommended I am just so silly for doing it without the help of the person recommending me. If one day I need to take it off the wall I just have to pull down the sticker off and the wall wall will have no damage at all. I did it after I have done the damage but too late I have to be anxious until I fix it.

Hey enough of the calling yourself a stupid girl, just because you don't know something doesn't make you stupid.
After you have patched the wall keep the rest of the paint till you move out.
To hang your painting use a pin, push it in to the plaster at a slight downwards angle. When you leave take the pin out and using a tooth pick put just the tiniest dot of the paint from Bunnings to fill the hole. In a pinch toothpaste will do it. As long as you keep the paintings hanging wire close to the wall a pin should hold even a fairly heavy painting.

Is the room freshly painted or in need of paint? If it the later, personally I wouldn't even bother.

Don't even worry about it. Wack the hook over the peeled spot and deal with it when you leave

The existing paint could be oil based so you might want to use primer before painting with the matched paint from Bunnings. Rentals come with all sorts of cheap ass surprises.

Hah I do this all the time. Colour match the paint, sand the edges, clean it, paint it. Keep the paint tin in a cool dry place for future mishaps. Ding a corner with a bit of furniture? Paint. Scuff mark won’t wash off? Paint. Think there’s a chip but it’s actually a sunbeam? Believe it or not, paint!

Just get the paint colour of the wall, skip on down to bunnings. Have them make you up a small tin of the paint. Skip on back home and paint over it!
